Mini-challenge #readathon

Dewey's Read-a-Thon mini-challenge by Literarily Speaking

In this mini-challenge, I'm asking you to tell me about the first book you remember loving. I'm talking, soul-searing, blood-boiling, can't-get-enough-of-it love. This book doesn't have to be from your childhood but it can be.

Just write up a quick post telling me what the first book you absolutely
loved was and why you loved it. If you want to include some stories about your history with this book, please do!

Where Are the Children? The first book that I loved was Where are the Children by Marry Higgins Clark.  This book completely freaked me out, but I loved it!  I couldn't put it down!!  I read it when I was in high school, and I had never been much of a reader, but this book had me on the edge of my seat (or I should say beach chair, because I was lounging on Kiawah Island!)  Fabulously freaky!!

  1. I've never been a MHC fan myself, but you're about the third or fourth person I've heard of in the last year who read her books in high school!

  2. I would have to say that a book that I love and has always stuck with me is Love That Dog a novel by Sharon Creech. I have also read MHC myself and sincerely loved her writing. Meeting her in person is just lovely!!! =)

  4. Having been a reader since the moment I could read, it's hard to pick "the one" that I loved first. I was a big fan of the Hardy Boys series but I think the one I LOVED first has to be Little Women. This was a family that I wanted to be part of and was set in a time period that I highly romanticized. I even tried calling my mom "Marmie" but she didn't go for it!
