There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.
I really liked this book. Right from the beginning I could tell that Luce was beautiful, Daniel was caring and gorgeous and Cam - sexy - trouble - mysterious - badboy. This book is a story of an age old battle, one that has been tested throughout time. Story of Good and Evil. Right and Wrong. The ultimate love triangle. (Would be a good answer for this weeks Secondhand Saturday) The fate of all eternal souls rest in the hands of a pair of star-crossed lovers. Hmmmmm, this sounds like a story I've heard before. Well, it's sorta like Romeo and Juliet, the whole ~ We're in love but really can't be together because it's forbidden ~ part.
The story starts out kinda slow but picks up about the end of the third chapter when Daniel takes notice of Luce. All the characters in this book come alive on each page. I would love to be friends with Luce, Penn and Gabbe.
Lauren Kate has a really neat way of writing. Very fresh. She definitely was born to write in the YA genre. I could not put the book down. As for the end, well it will definitely surprise you. It has a great roller coaster twist!

Fallen is a great start for this four book series.

Molley rolled her eyes. " Just trust me when I tell you that falling for Daniel would be a very, very bad idea." pg. 98

Don't forget about the sequel Torment coming out September 28, 2010

 OMG, that dress is breathtaking!!!

A word to the parent's there is a good deal of sensuality, a moderate amount of profanity, some violence and a few other notables. For a full content review check out Parental Book Reviews.
