2. Our pick, because she's obviously brilliant! bookaholic from India said...
1. Katniss-Peeta-Gale love triangle is replete with all emotions that love can produce-happiness,sadness,passion,fun,etc
2. It has all kinds of loves-
a) Unrequited love-Peeta's love for Katniss(till now)
b) Fake love-Katniss's for Peeta inside the arena in book 1
c) One sided love-Again,Peeta's love for Katniss
d) Love At First Sight- Peeta's for Katniss(when he saw her for the first time when they were kids in school)
e) Tragic love- Peeta's for Katniss(not understood at the beginning and unrequited till now...so..)
f) Passionate love- There is so much passion in Peeta's love for Katniss, Gale's love for Katniss and Katniss' love for Gale! The simplicity of the passion needed no smut! Their loves were portrayed beautifully!
g) Tension in love- Katniss doesn't know what she should do once she finds out Peeta truly madly loves her. Neither does Peeta know what he should do when he finds out that Katniss was actually faking love! The situation is now tense and way awkward!
3. Love between Strong Girl-Weak Boy(not physically)- Katniss-Peeta
Love between Strong Boy-Weak Girl- Gale-Katniss
4. I also love how Peeta sometimes took control over the situation inspite of him being a vulnerable kinda guy. He has a tremendous strength of character that could keep him from Katniss even though he is so obviously passionately in love with her.
5. Katniss' love for Gale changes from friendly love to 'love' love...
6. Confusion in love- Katniss isn't sure whom she loves or whom to choose between Peeta and Gale...which makes it even more interesting!
7. Both Peeta and Gale are ready to jeopardize their lives for Katniss and vice-versa.
P.S: Cant wait to read Mockingjay to find out what happens to this triangle!

I'm getting SO impatient for... MOCKINGJAY by Suzanne Collins!
ReplyDeleteI started the series this year and honestly COULD NOT PUT THE BOOKS DOWN! It's just SO INTERESTING! It seemed like the books were too short.
1) The Love Triangle: Of course, EVERYONE is itching to find out who Katniss is going to choose (if she gets to choose). I mean, girls are fawning over Peeta, him being the sweet little bakery boy he is. And on the other hand, other girls are rooting for Gale, the muscular, caring guy that has what it takes to survive and protect Katniss. Maybe I'm being biased here since I'm totally TEAM GALE!
2) The Districts: *SPOILER ALERT* I mean, what the heck happened to District Twelve?! And what is District Thirteen?! Collins better explain EVERYTHING in Mockingjay.
3) The Rebellion: What happened to that or should I say what will happen about that? Will they fight? What about the government? Too many questions! Too much hanging on Mockingjay!
Oh my goodness! There's too much about Mockingjay that makes me want to read it, I can't even list them all!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI have to admit the book i'm most eager for is "Murder at Mansfield Park" by Lynn Shepherd. It's another take on a Jane Austen novel, but it is more original in a way. I say this because the author didn't have to rely on the paranormal aspect to make it different. Instead she turned it into a good old murder mystery. In this story Fanny Price is not the good sweet girl, but is actually a rich spoiled brat. The original villain Mary Crawford is the good one this time around. One day Fanny ends up murdered and it's up to Mary to figure out who's done it. I'm really looking forward to reading this story in a new light and see which of the original characters is the murderer.

ReplyDeleteI am so dying to read Mockingjay,Paranormalcy and Halo!! Wish I could smuggle out ARCs from the authors!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI cant freaking wait for #Paranormalcy(reasons as stated by you in a previous post about why you want ‘deserve’ to win an ARC of the book!) and #Mockingjay(for obvious reasons-What about district 13? What will be the ending of the love triangle between Katniss,Gale and Peeta? Will there be yet another Hunger Games? What will happen then? How will the participants be selected? What about the rebellion?....So many questions, doubts, fears and apprehensions!)!!
ReplyDeleteAnother book I can hardly wait for is:
#HALO by Alexandra Adornetto
Release Date: September 14, 2010
Synopsis:Nothing much happens in Tallow Beach. But when three mysterious teens enroll in the local high school, everything changes. Nobody knows the truth: that they are angels on a mission to save a world on the brink of destruction. When Beth, the youngest, falls for her classmate Xavier, she faces a frightening decision: will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize that they are not they only supernatural power in Tallow Beach. The unscrupulous Jack Thorn sees Beth as the easiest target to further his own dark ambitions. The angels and Xavier must use their powers to overcome darkness - but will Beth survive the battle?
1. Should I judge a book by it’s cover? NO
Did I judge the book by it’s cover? Obviously,YES!
You have to,just have to check out the book cover…it’s so tempting! For me,it truly was love at first sight!! The silhouettes of the girl and the guy almost on the verge of union is so very finely, beautifully and delicately portrayed through the cover. There is that whole paranormal, heavenly glow almost engulfing them. Will there be a union or separation for these passionate lovers? Will love triumph or duty?
2. The story summary is so appealing. As it is,I am partial to angels. They are my most favorite para ‘creatures’. More so the ‘Undercover Angels On A Mission’ goes really well with me!
Will we see the fall of an angel from heaven yet again? There is that archetypal Lucifer-turned-Satan ‘feel’(without all the negativity that Satan brings with him ofcourse) to it which makes the character of Beth so very interesting for me….I want to read more about her!! Will she or will she not defy heaven? I have read a few books where the guy angel falls for a human girl(read Hush Hush). It is now a girl who faces the decision-heaven or love? Will her personal claims dominate over heavenly conventions? Will she be able to spurn heaven if she wants to choose love? Will she relent to or defy the laws? Will her decision grant her self gratification? Will the relationship between Beth and Xavier bring them felicity or despondency? So many interesting and unanswered questions!
3. Again that the angels are ‘NOT the only supernatural forces’ sound nice to me! Who are the other forces? What do they want? Who is Jack Thorn? That name ‘Jack Thorn’ so implies that he is gonna be such a royal pain for Beth! That ‘thorn’ says it all...!
But how? What is he going to do? What will be the effect of his villainy? How will he be overcome?
4. Fourthly, the book belongs to the paranormal romance genre! I know that might cut across to you as a very lame reason to like a book but what can I do? Paranormal never fails to attract me inspite of the abundance of books in this genre! And seems like the readers will encounter a really sweet romance in this book too! What more can a fan want?!
It seems like Halo is going to be a perfect blend of action, love and thrill with the paranormal! OMG,I so badly want to read this book, like now!!

I can't wait for Only the good spy young by ally Carter, cause her gallagher girls series is just BRILLIANT! seriously high schol girls that are training to become spies! and the whole plot of the series is awesome, and just when I thought Cammy the Camaleon was out of danger in book 3 I discovered she's in more danger than ever, and in this next book she and her friend Macey are going to London! where all the good spy stuff happens!
ReplyDeletealso, I know it's still long, I can't freaking wait for City of Fallen Angels!! ahh I almost die of exciment when Cassie Clare first said she was going to write a book with more Simon, I swear I feel like crying evertime I think about it, I AM SO EXCITED! Simon is my fave character of the series! he's smart, handsome, down to earth, geeky, and SO lovable, like he's just happy because Clary is happy even though he wants her to be with him, but all that matters to him is that she is happy and I'm just in love with him, Is it wrong I'm in love with a fictional guy? AWWW
I am dying to read Spells and and Linger!
