I've always had a soft spot for everyone's fave werewolf (and no, he's not from TWILIGHT) REMUS LUPIN. I love his gentle demeanor, even if he does go a little wacky in the last book. I mean, every hero/mentor has a weak moment.
Here's a super quote from POA...
Snape to Lupin: "Possibly no one's warned you, Lupin, but this class contains Neville Longbottom. I would advise you not to entrust him with anything difficult. Not unless Miss Granger is hissing instructions in his ear." [...]
Professor Lupin raised his eyebrows.
"I was hoping that Neville would assist me with the first stage of the operation, he said, and I am sure he will perform admirably."
Go, Lupin! :)

I love to hate and hate to love Kamran from Tell Me A Secret. He is such an ass! But possibly, eventually makes up for it...maybe...

Aw gosh, I'd probably pick Sean from "Wherever Nina Lies"...because I ADORED him in the beginning. What a sweetie, really. He wasn't giving off any bad vibes (or maybe I'm terrible at reading people!) and then BAM (*spoliers ahead*) he did a HUGE 180 and turned out to be a psychopathic WHACK-JOB/NUT-BAG, and I was like, WHOA, dude, I really liked you! Where'd this come from?
ReplyDeleteLOL. So I feel sad that I liked him and didn't see it coming, but even now I know what he was up to, I really, really liked him in the beginning...still!
So that is my predicament :P :D LOL
Cheers :)

Darn, I was going to say Patch. :(
ReplyDeleteI don't really have the whole love/hate thing that often with characters. The only one who I could really think of right now is Heathcliff. I've read Wuthering Heights a few times and I'll feel really feel bad for him at one point and others I can't stand him.
Thank you so much!Cant believe it!And it so hard to choose too LOL
ReplyDeleteEdward from Twilight always annoyed me even though we love him. I felt too sorry for Jacob and would have picked him!
ReplyDeleteEdward would be my first choice, too.I think he is the poster boy of simultaneous love/hate feelings.
ReplyDeleteBut I would also add Oliver from Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires series. He is cold, mean, dangerous and let's face it, a murderer, but when it comes down to it he always steps up to the plate and plays his part in saving the gang, even risking his own life to do it.So,you're always stuck in a limbo of love and hate when it comes to Oliver and you absolutely enjoy feeling both :)

My pick is going to be Snape from Harry Potter. Throughout the whole books he just makes Harry's life miserable and he is the teacher that most of the students hate. I think he is pretty relatable to real students and maybe a few of their teachers. But of course because of the whole thing with Lilly, I do love him. I think he is a strong character and I feel bad for him. I can only imagine what would have become of him if he was to marry Lilly! I suppose I don't necessary "Hate to Love him or Love to Hate him", but I do hate and love him at the same time.

I love to hate and hate to love Ash, Prince Winter, from The Iron Fey serie. He is so sexy and cute, but sometimes he is mean!

Hmm..
The guy in a book that I most love to hate and hate to love is Cam from Fallen.
At first I kind of like him.
But then, I start to despise him.

The person I love to hate/hate to love is Gale from The Hunger Games/Catching Fire. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, I know he means well, but I freakin' love Peeta. And dangit, I want Katniss with PEETA! So Gale, move out of the way! lol.

The boy i love to hate and hate to love would be Jacob from Twilight. It's well known on this blog that i rather despise that series. Now believe it or not i used to semi-like the series because of Jacob. I actually only read the series because of him. I mean i hated Edward immediately and Bella has the brains of fly. I wanted to kill them both immediately. I did rather like Jacob and hoped that he would knock some brains into Bella. He kept me going through book 1 & 2. Then 3 he was ify-ify and in book 4 he had to die. He became the pedo-bear. I almost felt the need to send Chris Hanson to his doorstep. "Hello Jacob. We need to talk. Now what is this about you loving little children?". I cannot stand pedophilia of any kind and i hated that my favorite character turned into the poster child of book series for it. Therefore, whenever i start to rant about Twilight Jacob is always my main contender.

I love to hate and hate to love two guys:
ReplyDelete- Edward (Twilight saga): He's so caring and perfect that makes you think "where's MY Edward?", but he makes you want to punch his nose exactly for being so over protective and perfect!
- Snape (Harry Potter): he's not completely bad but he's not completely good either. In the first 4 books I used to love him for being so annoying, but after the 5th I felt so sorry for him... =(

I had to think about this one for a while, it was difficult for me to find one. I would love to hate but hate to love Jacob from the Twilight series. Sometimes while reading the books I was happy and sad for him but then he would do something really irritating or start being too pushy and would get me so mad!!!

I really liked and hated Luke from Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. He was so evil, but I felt bad for him because it wasn't all his fault. I thought he was a really great character that really ended up redeeming himself at the end.

Oh, this is an easy question. My answer is Damen from Evermore by Alyson Noel. He's supposed to be centuries old but he still acts like a doofus and has NO CLUE when it comes to women. For these reasons, he annoys the life out of me but at the same time, I can't help but love him and his love for Ever. ARGH!

I hate to love Ash from The Iron King. I love Puck too, but I feel like I should. Ash is kind of self-centered, cold, and even tried to kill Meghan once, yet I still find myself sighing every time he makes an entrance!

I am going with Ash from The Iron King. Puck is my fave but for some reason I have a soft spot for Ash...even though I think he is a bit of a jerk.

Congrats to the people who won ! Hahaha the guy I would pick is probably Gale from the Hunger Games. He was all cool in the first book, but then in the second book he's all moody and mean to Katniss. Mur. Haha, as much as I hate him, I still love him :D

ReplyDeleteI loved to hate Keenan from Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series. I was hardcore Team Seth from the first chapter, but I loved the conflict Keenan created. The story wouldn't have been nearly as interesting without his obnoxiousness. lol

ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a new follower and I just promoted this giveaway on my sidebar:
http://shreddedcheddar.blogspot.com/
The guy I love to hate and hate to love is . . . Edward Cullen, of course! =P (Am I already in trouble? LOL!)
As if it weren't bad enough that he is completely devoid of any real personality, he just had to fall for an amoral, self-entitled princess who thinks the world revolves around her. I wonder what could redeem him after that.
I also wonder which guy character I loved to hate and hated to love before I learned about the Twilight series . . .
Let's see... my guy would definely be Jace from The Mortal Instruments series. I LOVE all of his sarcratic remarks but he's really sweet at times. = ]

The person I love to hate and hate to love is Damon Salvatore from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. Damon Salvatore Stefan's amoral vampire brother. However, in The Fury and Dark Reunion, it is showed that Damon is also capable of fierce loyalty and affection, though he is often misunderstood.

*SPOILER ALERT*
ReplyDeleteThe person that I love to hate and hate to love is Luke from Percy Jackson. He is a rounder character than Percy I think(though I love Percy). He excels at sword fighting, teaches Percy to fight and is the best fighter at Camp Half Blood! At the beginning he seemed like such a loyal friend,I was really shocked when it was disclosed that Luke was the traitor! He remains the the unrelenting villain and Percy's staunch enemy till the end. However, for me he achieves true heroic grandeur in the way he dies. He has realized his mistake-he now understands that his mind has been toyed with but he was chained inescapably to the Lord Titan. But his death held unutterable pathos for me...was great the way he accepted his death. He is a true tragic figure for me going through all the phases-hubris(pride that he is the best),hamartia(ignorance:he thought Lord Titan was actually good!),anagnorisis(the moment when he realises that his mind has been played on),peripety(his tragic fall). Luke for me is after all a figure of distorted potential for me.
