Something Like Fate By: Susane Colasanti

Something Like FateSomething Like Fate

What if your soul mate is... your best friend's boyfriend?
Lani and Erin are bonded for life. One thing that connects them is their fascination of fate. Lani wonders how much of our lives has already been decided and how much we can actually influence. Since the Unknown can unexpectedly change our lives forever, how much can we really control?
From the minute Lani meets Jason, she can't deny the intense connection they share. It feels like she's known him forever. She's not sure if he feels it, too. But it doesn't matter. Because Jason is Erin's boyfriend. Lani is determined to ignore her feelings for Jason, no matter how powerful they are, rather than risk hurting her best friend.
What if the boy who is your destiny is the one person you can't have?

My favorite quote:
"I think everyone knows you're from Canada, Connor," I say.
"Is it that obvious?"
"Jeez, try to blend in and you still get labeled. Anyone want a Coffee Crisp?"
"Sorry, Canadian inside joke with myself.  I'll be going now."

My Review:
I saw the cover to this book about a month ago on a "coming out in 2010" list, and I instantly fell in love with it.  It sets up the story perfectly, I love how much emotion it has before you've even opened the book. I've been dying to read this book and was very excited when I saw it at the bookstore.  Finally, I stopped staring at the cover, ;) actually read the book, and it only took me two days.  A few months ago I started Waiting for You because Abigaile told me it was good and it wasn't really "my type" so I was worried I wouldn't like this one but I am so happy I decided to read it!  I especially loved the characters (my favorite was Connor) and how it wasn't as predictable as most chick lit books.  It's a definite must read for any Scrambled Eggs at Midnight fan!
"Rien ne va arrĂȘter ma quĂȘte pour te trouver."

  1. Great review!! It makes me want to read it!

  2. I see you're counting down the days until Mockingjay. I loved the first two so much. I can't wait to read it.

I'm stopping by from SITS to say hello.
