I wrote a post some time ago about Some of the Greatest Mentors of All Time by Austin (Go and read) I also said that I would choose one lucky winner from whomever wrote a comment. Since Andye and my mom has announced all their contest winners, I guess I should wrap mine up as well. Sorry for the delay... Summer has really been great (And distracting). So here it goes.......
And The Winner is.......

My favorite mentor from a book has to be Dumbledore. One reason i like him is because he's not perfect. He admittedly makes and then feels grief from the mistakes. It takes a big person to admit that they're wrong and that their mistakes have been costly. Yet he never lost faith in Harry or anybody-else.
He started out power hungry. Wanting to make the world in his and Grindelwald perfect image. Along the way he had a revelation and changed. He learned the hard way that life isn't always easy. That bad things happen. It's your choice in hard times that define a person. Not your blood or who or what you are.
Dumbledore's not afraid to give second chances to people if they make mistakes. He's also not afraid to give first chances as he did when he allow Remus Lupin to attend Hogwarts. Something that Remus admits no other headmaster would have allowed.
He states all of these things when he says
"It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
"You fail to recognize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."
My favorite quote of his has to be "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." I love this quote because it's truth for all occurrences. All the bad times a person goes through. That no matter how bad things get there is always room to find something happy. Even if that happiness is merely that a person is still alive and intact. ^^
