Adversary is the sequel to MINDER.  If you haven't read it, go check out my review here! If you haven't read Minder then I would recommend not reading this review!

What it's about:

Adversary is a continuation of Minder, but it is definitely not a "fluff" book.  After Maddie has been living in Ganzfield for a few months and is finally getting used to her life there, it turns upside down.  An overnight trip to the city means that Maddie, Trevor, and some of their friends weren't at Ganzfield during the attack. They come back to find utter chaos, and devastation.  Their rescue group may be only a small group of teenagers, but they also may be the hostages only hope.  Even with the insanity around them Trevor and Maddie are as close as ever, but when a new G-Positive shows up, with the ability to shield against Maddie, Trevor might not be the one who is constantly on her mind anymore.  And where is Dr. Williamson in all of this?  Well, I guess you're just going to have to read it to find out.

My Review:

I loved this book!   Even better than Minder! It was exciting, surprising, and completely exceeded my expectations!  The chemistry between the characters is fascinating, and the twists are unbelievable. I COULDN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY UNTIL I FINISHED THIS BOOK. It distracted me from everything I was supposed to be doing.  It took over my head and I couldn't think of anything else.  And I was completely satisfied with the ending, I love when series books at least wrap it up a little, then I made the mistake of reading the first chapter of Legacy (which is in the back of Adversary) and now I'm dying for the next one. So I would like to tell Kate's publisher, nice work. If I wasn't hooked before, I definitely am now.

My Favorite Quote:
"Dance tree. Dance for me. Whip those leaves around. Ooh, yeah. Shake it... Wiggle that trunk. Um. Twee. Moof."

-Zach (Who just happens to be my favorite...)

If you're interested:  Adversary has a moderate amount of language and sensuality along with quite a bit of violence.  If you'd like more details check out Adversary on Parental Book Reviews.

  1. Yay! *huge grin* I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

  2. Great review, Kirstyn. Since I'm just now getting back into reading after a long hiatus I'm becoming overwhelmed with the choices and you guys keep dishing them out. Looks like I'm going to have to pace myself and I have never been good about that when I start reading.
