The ultimate battle. The ultimate love.

For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun.

Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated—and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose.

Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself—and her heart.

Wow, just wow!  I really had no idea what to expect from this book, but it certainly exceeded anything that I was thinking.

One of my favorites!

You may want to know:  This book has some profanity (especially some Irish cussing), and some kissing, and quite a bit of violence.  For more details, check out Crusade on Parental Book Reviews.

  1. CRAPPPP!!! Now I'm itchy all over...Thanks. :)

  2. I loved Crusade!!

Skye and Holgar were a couple of my favorite characters. And I have to agree with you about the Jenn thing - she's insecure but I think she's gonna grow to be less insecure.

  3. Amy-hahahahaha

Sandy- I love Hogar too!! I actually said that in the video, but I had to cut a bunch out because I talked WAY TOO LONG!! It was still over 5 minutes!!

  4. Great review!

I was actually thinking of getting it when I saw it at the bookstore but i sort of hesitated because, you know, it's a vampire book but your review made my decision! I look forward to meeting the characters of Crusade! :) And the cover is really pretty, even though it's dark. It's shiny~ :o

Thanks for the rec. on Twitter~
I love the "no sparkle allowed" part! Too cute! :D

  5. I had no idea this was about vampires. Lol. Thanks for this great review! I've mulled over picking this up for quite some time and now I am definitely gonna!

  6. I haven't read my copy of Crusade yet, but Nancy and Debbie are definitely a fantastic writing team. Since you loved this so much, I would recommend that you check out their Wicked series.

  7. This one looks great! I can't wait to read my copy!

  8. All, I seriously loved it, and I'm a little nervous that you all won't love it as much as I did. It's funny how protective I get of books!! haha!!

    Please love it!!!

  9. I need to read this book really badly now!!

There is an award for you at my blog!

  10. This book's synopses reminded me of Vampire Academy: school where you train to kill bad vampires...

  11. I was just searching for Crusade reviews and found your website. I loved the review video.

By the way, we've posted it on Nancy's review web site. Thanks!

    :-) Erin

  12. Erika, READ IT!!

Jam, I wouldn't compare it to Vamp Academy. I think it has a totally different feel to it.

Erin, Wow, thanks so much Erin! Now I wish I had fixed myself up a little! haha
