Today we're really excited to have the author of a new and exciting dystopian book, Drought, with us! Pam Bachorz is talking to us about a couple of books that she is looking forward to reading!
PAM'S BOOK PICKS
Three Books for me:
First, I've just started John Truby's THE ANATOMY OF STORY, which is a how-to writing book I've heard lots of authors talking about. I'm always looking for ways to improve as a writer and understand the techniques of great writing.
Second, I've got Paolo Bacigalupi's THE WINDUP GIRLon my to-be-read pile. It's an adult sci-fi book that won the 2010 Nebula Award, as well as tying for the 2010 Hugo Award. I want to read the best, to learn, but it also just sounds like a very cool book. And of course this author is known in the teen world for his SHIP BREAKER, which just won the Printz!
Third, I also have L.M. Montgomery's THE BLYTHES ARE QUOTED, which was pubbed in 2009 as a sort of sequel to RILLA OF INGLESIDE
. It's supposed to be rather different from her other work and I'm very curious to read it, as a huge fan of her novels and short stories.
Thanks so much Pam, for joining us today! We're reading Drought right now and we're really excited to see where it goes!
Make sure you check out DROUGHT
