  1. Well, I'd definitely want to do something Paranormal, probably YA. Maybe some vampires, but not the sparkly kind. The evil-and-need-to-be-staked-for-the-good-of-humanity kind. : ) Or my characters could have awesome superpowers like manipulating time... : )

  2. I hope this isn't too long...

Mine would be Angels and Demons, Heaven and Hell.

A *newly made* Angel would be sent to Earth for a mission, all she knows is that she is to love..
She'd met a guy who seems like a bad boy trying to do good but doesn't get it quite right, she'd notice and try to help him, well she starts liking him and one night at a party he'd run away and she would follow him only to see his true self, a demon, and at that moment she would be terrfied and understand her mission. She is to save this Demon.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

  7. Actually, I am an aspiring writer and I'm currently working on a Contemporary YA manuscript. I'm a fan of the edgy ones, that tell it as it is, and I'm working on a novel along those lines.

    Loving the question.

  11. I'm actually writing my draft for my first novel now. It's a YA dystopian! I'm writing in this genre not because it's 'in' but because I love writing about the future, predicting what would happen and also molding the present world into one of my own.

    Thank you!

  12. I would write in the dystopian genre. Not just because it's the buzz right now. It's just always appealed to me. Plus, I always seem to be running from someone in my dreams, which is the theme of dystopian lol. Whether it's 'the man' or not, I'm not sure yet.

I've already won a SHS contest, so I'm just here to answer the question. =)

Yes, I have thought of writing my own novel, and when I was still in grade school and high school, I was totally set on being a novelist. (That's one dream I still mourn.) My biggest inspiration at the time was Madeleine L'Engle, so I wanted to write YA Fantasy with an SF edge--definitely something involving another world or dimension or even era in our own world.

Today, I find myself more drawn to MG reads than to YA, so I'd probably write the same thing, but with younger characters.

Thanks for the question! It's wonderful to read other people's answers as well.

  18. Actually I have a story in my head and wrote first chapter of it, but somehow couldn't continue it. Not because the idea disappeared but because I got lost in reading. Somehow these days reading seems much more interesting than writing :D
The story is Epic Fantasy with a set in Fantasy World.

    Thanks for the opportunity ~

  40. I considered it years ago. I had a relationship where we communicated mostly though email and I kept all of them, even the sent ones. I thought about writing a book in the form of emails about the relationship, but of course embelishing and changing some details. Eventually I deleted all the emails though.

  41. I've tried writing books before, I even have a full novel-length outlined in Post-Its on my bedroom door, but I can never find the time to finish them, which makes me sad.
The stories I most wanted to tell are a contemporary Christian semi-fictional story and a supernatural christian noivel about angels and demons, but not in a way you've evrs een them before. I still want to share these stories and whatever Truth they are capable of conveying, and maybe someday I will, but for now I'll have to be content with reading rather than writing.

  42. I'm not a very good writer, but if I did write a book, it would be historical fiction, probably about one of the strong women in history.

  43. I have written many first chapters but have never really gotten anywhere further then that. Mostly what I've written tends to be contemporary and realistic stuff. If I actually had the ability to write and could write anything I wanted it would probably be paranormal just because you can pretty much take the story anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Writing isn't really something I do normally, but if I did I would definitely make it fantasy and adventure, with supernatural creatures. In another world. Like Narnia. :D

  45. Only ever dreamed about it, and whatever short story I did write in the middle of the night turned out to be some confusing Alice-in-Wonderland type.... thingy.
If I ever did write a book I think it'd be aimed at either children or YA.
If it's children it'd be a fantastical tale of a girl on an adventure in a new world.
For YA I'd probably write something scary. It would include a the protagonist (most likely a girl since I'm still trying to understand boys o_O) with a superpower and would include dead people, ghosts, zombies and evil people :)

  46. I'm only 13 years old and i have three awesome stories for you:
1.) Paige Anderson, a normal 14 year old, hates anything paranormal. Twilight, ghosts, hot shapeshiifters, freak her out beyond comparison. Imagine when her best friends, Twins Arisa and Rachel, drag her into a gypsy store to get there fortunes told. As Paige looks around the store, she finds an old mirror, looking very old, but not broken in any way. Suddenly, as she touches it unconciously, she is transported into Athelea, Earths counterpart. She lands in a forest, with no way out. And, a dragon staring hungrily at her. Now, unlike Saphira from Eragon, this dragon is an offspring of a dragon and a demon merging.

She freaks out and just after she trys running away, she is saved by a beautiful elf named Aeronwen. But as soon as Aeronwen slays the beast with her sword, Darkingink, she begins walking away, not even caring about Paige. In a desperate attempt, Paige begins running after Aeronwen, who, besides threatening Paige to "Get the hell away from me", surprisingly leads Paige to the Water Guild, where the people, for a bunch of rowdy men, are really nice to Paige, but, the begin calling her Ran, after Anmarantha, because here, Paige is a bit hard to pronounce. Ran never gives up trying to find out how to get home, and in researching, she finds out there is more to her than she thought....Soon a rag-tag team of Aeronwen, the cursed elf Princess, Simon, a poor human boy with 3 souls trapped into his body, Zacherial, a fallen angel desperate to return home, and Rantha, form together to fight the Demon Lord, which seems to have some part of Aeronwen's past....?

  48. Rune here again! with Number 2!
2.) The Melancholy of Snow White's sister.

Aerie Cross is the sole princess of the Glisthin Kingdom. Therefore she is expected by everyone to become a mature and responsible lady. Not. Even. Close. Aerie repeatedly sneaks out of the palace and dresses up as a commoner boy and play with others. But as her mother, the ruling queen, becomes ill, Aerie realizes that soon she will be forced to rule-and with a noble husband at her side. And with that, she won't be able to see her best guy friends, like Will, Thomas, Clover, and most of all, Ruka, who Aerie loves most of all, because of bodyguards and maids, and a "Husband" watching her all the time. Afraid of the nearing future, Aerie desperatly searches for a way out, which she uncovers a HUGE family secret. She has an older sister. Which means that the eldest child will take the throne. But, problem. Years, and years ago, Snow fell under a deep spell, and she can't wake up. Aerie, for her own reasons, sets out to free her older sister form her curse(With her friends, of course). Along the way, she meets Gray, a traveling swordsman, who's about her age. As a love triangle begins with Gray and Ruka and Aerie. But, when they find out that Snow's cure is her true love's kiss-a promise to love one another for a long time-she finds out that Gray is Snow's soulmate. Will Aerie make Gray kiss Snow, or will she take the position of Queen?

  54. I have never thought to write a book. I have had the opportunity of meeting many authors and as I talked to them I discovered how difficult being an author is. I also beta read for an author and as I give my thoughts on her works it shows me how difficult writing is with the re-writes, edits, corrections, or scraping books that looked good in idea stage but didn't work out in reality. There is more to writing than just the writing. You have to find an agent (if you want to go with a big print publisher) or you have to shop your book around to smaller publishing houses yourself. You have to make sure you haven't plagerized anyone and that your grammar and spelling are correct. Once your work is accepted you have to edit and re-write (possibly). One you're published you then have to do your own promo work or pay someone else to do it. Then you have to start again with a new story. So no I don't want to be an author but I love to read what someone else has written and be drawn into the story and have their words as a movie in my head. After all, someone needs to read and appreciate all those books that have been written.
