Well, I'd definitely want to do something Paranormal, probably YA. Maybe some vampires, but not the sparkly kind. The evil-and-need-to-be-staked-for-the-good-of-humanity kind. : ) Or my characters could have awesome superpowers like manipulating time... : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
ambience.of.rain {at} gmail.com
I hope this isn't too long...
ReplyDeleteMine would be Angels and Demons, Heaven and Hell.
A *newly made* Angel would be sent to Earth for a mission, all she knows is that she is to love..
She'd met a guy who seems like a bad boy trying to do good but doesn't get it quite right, she'd notice and try to help him, well she starts liking him and one night at a party he'd run away and she would follow him only to see his true self, a demon, and at that moment she would be terrfied and understand her mission. She is to save this Demon.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell.
StupidLamb61193@gmail.com
Well, so far I'm loving this question.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a YA historical, something like BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS or VIXEN. Love flappers! :)
ReplyDeleteonepagereviews@gmail.com
I have always wanted to write a book! i know that i would try to write something smart and intellectual, but it would morph into something with magic and superpowers. kind of secret society-ish. i know its been done before, several hundred times, but i woudl try to find a new angle.
ReplyDeletei love second-hand saturday! thanks guys. :)
lil_miss_mae246(at)hotmail(dot)com
I would totally write a supernatural/fantasy book..because it's my favorite genre! (:
ReplyDeleteblissfulrains(at)yahoo(dot)com
Actually, I am an aspiring writer and I'm currently working on a Contemporary YA manuscript. I'm a fan of the edgy ones, that tell it as it is, and I'm working on a novel along those lines.
ReplyDeleteLoving the question.
And thanks for the question!
speak_to_bidisha@yahoo.co.in
I would write a book about a creepy book shop.

I've always wanted to write a book. It would probably be an LDS fiction novel but I've been really getting into YA lately so maybe a combination of both!
ReplyDeletelexie.bookbug(at)gmail(dot)com
As much as I am reading a lot of different genres, my "writing genres" are definitely sci-fi and thriller.
ReplyDeletedanaan at gmx dot at
I'm actually writing my draft for my first novel now. It's a YA dystopian! I'm writing in this genre not because it's 'in' but because I love writing about the future, predicting what would happen and also molding the present world into one of my own.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
precious_shusky@yahoo.com
I would write in the dystopian genre. Not just because it's the buzz right now. It's just always appealed to me. Plus, I always seem to be running from someone in my dreams, which is the theme of dystopian lol. Whether it's 'the man' or not, I'm not sure yet.
ReplyDeleteVivien
deadtossedwaves at gmail dot com
The book would be a contemporary fiction & YA because there are several books now that are in Paranormal and I want something new where the young adults can relate their selves to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
clarissa.bulatao {at} yahoo.com
I have only ever idly dream of writing but if I veer did it would probably be a fantasy as that would not require me to spend a lot of time researching things.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

I'd definitely write a YA dystopian novel. The Hunger Games opened up my interest for writing one. I just have yet to figure out what my concept would be.
ReplyDeletesauvadeavelle at yahoo dot com
I would write thriller novels with a lot of suspense and crimes just like Agatha Christie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.

ReplyDeleteI've already won a SHS contest, so I'm just here to answer the question. =)
Yes, I have thought of writing my own novel, and when I was still in grade school and high school, I was totally set on being a novelist. (That's one dream I still mourn.) My biggest inspiration at the time was Madeleine L'Engle, so I wanted to write YA Fantasy with an SF edge--definitely something involving another world or dimension or even era in our own world.
Today, I find myself more drawn to MG reads than to YA, so I'd probably write the same thing, but with younger characters.
Thanks for the question! It's wonderful to read other people's answers as well.
Actually I have a story in my head and wrote first chapter of it, but somehow couldn't continue it. Not because the idea disappeared but because I got lost in reading. Somehow these days reading seems much more interesting than writing :D
ReplyDeleteThe story is Epic Fantasy with a set in Fantasy World.
Thanks for the opportunity ~
I actually do think about writing a lot. I have an idea for ya dystopian and a few other. :o)
ReplyDeletebritneywyatt[at]gmail[dot]com
I would love to write historical fiction with a touch of fantasy.

Hi, thats a good question. I have been really thinking of writing a book but don't know where to begin. I have thought about writing a romance novel. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteParanormal Suspense. Bordering on YA but in reality more adult. More in line with a middle 20's age group, and dealing with the dead in a non-zombie way.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I finish my revisions in the next month or two and start the process of querying. Thanks for the opportunity! (Hugs)Indigo
ravensquietscreams(at)gmail.com
I actually have written a book and am trying to get it published. I am working on my 2nd now. They are both YA contemp.
ReplyDeletebrandileigh2003@yahoo.com
I don't know if this counts since I have published one book so far and written some others, but I have recently been thinking that I'd like to write a YA thriller about being buried alive, with some queer content.
ReplyDeleteMy book would be science fiction, but 'soft sci-fi', not 'hard', that is, no long descriptions of various fancy machines or theories:)
ReplyDeletespamscape [at] gmail [dot] com
I have definitely thought about writing a novel and have made a few attempts, but never finished anything. I enjoy most writing YA and currently have been working on a fantasy WiP.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on several novels right now, and the majority of them are dystopian or fantasy. But I'd love to write something from a villain's point of view, or to have the love interest be a "bad girl" for once.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to write a book, I would write an epic fantasy novel. Or maybe a dystopian. I don't know, there's a lot I want to write!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWell, mine would probably by YA or Adult. Probably something creepy but real (if that makes sense)or dystopian.
ReplyDeleteI would have a mix between Contemporary fiction and fantasy, something like Sisters Red. I love both genres so it would be hard to let one or the other be more important!
ReplyDeleteeliweibley(at)gmail(dot)com
If I had to write a book it would probably have something with a girl as a main caracter, so I could relate to it. And then probably something with some paranormal. Fairy, Unicorns you name it :P Everything that I like. Fairytale creatures :P
ReplyDeleteUhh.. and something with a hidden country, with all this creatures.. I know.. Heard it before right ;) But I like those thinks.. And Yeah.. I am not a writter xD But that would probably be it :D
I would so write a YA novel they are just so appealing to me!!!!
ReplyDeletei Just go gaga over the romance!!!
ashtreygonesmokeya@yahoo.com
I would definely write a YA novel. Why? Cause I love all YA novels. I haven't given much thought about what it would be about, but definely something with superpowers.
ReplyDeleteyilingni@yahoo.com
i think i would write a contemporary fiction!
ReplyDeleteblue_star_10@hotmail.com
Never wanted to write but if I did it would be some sort of paranormal YA book. But I really don't have a desire to do it.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wonder about writing a book. Right now I don't have a story to tell. I think that when I wake up I should write down my dreams before I forget them and base a story off of that.
ReplyDeleteI have never thought about writing a book like for real. I had some thoughts about what I would write, though. Mostly the thoughts were centered about teenagers, their problems, loves, maybe some fantasy world elements, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm writing a story, but I don't think it will ever be book material. But basically it's about my life through high school and college.
ReplyDeletepinkdaddysgirl[at]msn[dot]com
I considered it years ago. I had a relationship where we communicated mostly though email and I kept all of them, even the sent ones. I thought about writing a book in the form of emails about the relationship, but of course embelishing and changing some details. Eventually I deleted all the emails though.
ReplyDeleteI've tried writing books before, I even have a full novel-length outlined in Post-Its on my bedroom door, but I can never find the time to finish them, which makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteThe stories I most wanted to tell are a contemporary Christian semi-fictional story and a supernatural christian noivel about angels and demons, but not in a way you've evrs een them before. I still want to share these stories and whatever Truth they are capable of conveying, and maybe someday I will, but for now I'll have to be content with reading rather than writing.
I'm not a very good writer, but if I did write a book, it would be historical fiction, probably about one of the strong women in history.
ReplyDeleteamandarwest at gmaildotcom
I have written many first chapters but have never really gotten anywhere further then that. Mostly what I've written tends to be contemporary and realistic stuff. If I actually had the ability to write and could write anything I wanted it would probably be paranormal just because you can pretty much take the story anywhere.
ReplyDeleteWriting isn't really something I do normally, but if I did I would definitely make it fantasy and adventure, with supernatural creatures. In another world. Like Narnia. :D
ReplyDeleteiLiveiLaughiLoveBooks@gmail.com
Only ever dreamed about it, and whatever short story I did write in the middle of the night turned out to be some confusing Alice-in-Wonderland type.... thingy.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever did write a book I think it'd be aimed at either children or YA.
If it's children it'd be a fantastical tale of a girl on an adventure in a new world.
For YA I'd probably write something scary. It would include a the protagonist (most likely a girl since I'm still trying to understand boys o_O) with a superpower and would include dead people, ghosts, zombies and evil people :)
I'm only 13 years old and i have three awesome stories for you:
ReplyDelete1.) Paige Anderson, a normal 14 year old, hates anything paranormal. Twilight, ghosts, hot shapeshiifters, freak her out beyond comparison. Imagine when her best friends, Twins Arisa and Rachel, drag her into a gypsy store to get there fortunes told. As Paige looks around the store, she finds an old mirror, looking very old, but not broken in any way. Suddenly, as she touches it unconciously, she is transported into Athelea, Earths counterpart. She lands in a forest, with no way out. And, a dragon staring hungrily at her. Now, unlike Saphira from Eragon, this dragon is an offspring of a dragon and a demon merging.
She freaks out and just after she trys running away, she is saved by a beautiful elf named Aeronwen. But as soon as Aeronwen slays the beast with her sword, Darkingink, she begins walking away, not even caring about Paige. In a desperate attempt, Paige begins running after Aeronwen, who, besides threatening Paige to "Get the hell away from me", surprisingly leads Paige to the Water Guild, where the people, for a bunch of rowdy men, are really nice to Paige, but, the begin calling her Ran, after Anmarantha, because here, Paige is a bit hard to pronounce. Ran never gives up trying to find out how to get home, and in researching, she finds out there is more to her than she thought....Soon a rag-tag team of Aeronwen, the cursed elf Princess, Simon, a poor human boy with 3 souls trapped into his body, Zacherial, a fallen angel desperate to return home, and Rantha, form together to fight the Demon Lord, which seems to have some part of Aeronwen's past....?
serenagarnett98@hotmail.com
I frequently write but the latest book that has been on my mind is a modernization of the Phantom of the Opera. It would a Young Adult with a bit of paranormal wrapped into it. I am not sure if I would have the "phantom" be a boy though. Lots of research to do!
ReplyDeleteRune here again! with Number 2!
ReplyDelete2.) The Melancholy of Snow White's sister.
Aerie Cross is the sole princess of the Glisthin Kingdom. Therefore she is expected by everyone to become a mature and responsible lady. Not. Even. Close. Aerie repeatedly sneaks out of the palace and dresses up as a commoner boy and play with others. But as her mother, the ruling queen, becomes ill, Aerie realizes that soon she will be forced to rule-and with a noble husband at her side. And with that, she won't be able to see her best guy friends, like Will, Thomas, Clover, and most of all, Ruka, who Aerie loves most of all, because of bodyguards and maids, and a "Husband" watching her all the time. Afraid of the nearing future, Aerie desperatly searches for a way out, which she uncovers a HUGE family secret. She has an older sister. Which means that the eldest child will take the throne. But, problem. Years, and years ago, Snow fell under a deep spell, and she can't wake up. Aerie, for her own reasons, sets out to free her older sister form her curse(With her friends, of course). Along the way, she meets Gray, a traveling swordsman, who's about her age. As a love triangle begins with Gray and Ruka and Aerie. But, when they find out that Snow's cure is her true love's kiss-a promise to love one another for a long time-she finds out that Gray is Snow's soulmate. Will Aerie make Gray kiss Snow, or will she take the position of Queen?
serenagarnett98@hotmail.com
I have thought about it, but my biggest thing is what am I going to write about?
ReplyDeleteI would write a cross between fantasy, historical, and romance. And maybe some adventure while I'm at it. I don't have a concrete idea, but then again, that's why I'm not a writer.
ReplyDeletebooks[a]muggle-born dot net
YA, definitely. And every kind. Comtemp, dystopia, paranormal...all of it. :D
ReplyDeleteshutupjessicasreading @ gmaildotcom
Yes I have! It will definitely be a YA book with a hot male character! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely write YA, and I'd want it to be humorous. If I ever figure out a plot, maybe I'll actually write a book. ;)
ReplyDeleteredheadrockstarJB (at) yahoo (dot) com
I have never thought to write a book. I have had the opportunity of meeting many authors and as I talked to them I discovered how difficult being an author is. I also beta read for an author and as I give my thoughts on her works it shows me how difficult writing is with the re-writes, edits, corrections, or scraping books that looked good in idea stage but didn't work out in reality. There is more to writing than just the writing. You have to find an agent (if you want to go with a big print publisher) or you have to shop your book around to smaller publishing houses yourself. You have to make sure you haven't plagerized anyone and that your grammar and spelling are correct. Once your work is accepted you have to edit and re-write (possibly). One you're published you then have to do your own promo work or pay someone else to do it. Then you have to start again with a new story. So no I don't want to be an author but I love to read what someone else has written and be drawn into the story and have their words as a movie in my head. After all, someone needs to read and appreciate all those books that have been written.
ReplyDeletesmg5775@yahoo.com
there is something i just adore about contemporary ya that is done with a touch of the supernatural or paranormal...if i could write worth a hoot, i'd head that direction.
ReplyDeletethanks for the contest!
It would be set in the 1800s and the heroine would keep slipping in and out of a alternate world, unsure what is real.
ReplyDeletenatalie23[at]hotmail[dot]co[dot]uk
I guess I'm speaking from experience since I have attempted to write somewhat of a novel! So far, I think YA Contemporary has worked the best for me! So if I were to ever write a novel it would be a cross between romance and contemporary!
ReplyDeletecallmeghostgirl@yahoo.com.au
I am not at all a writer so I have never seriously thought about what kind of book a would write if I wanted to. But thinking about it now, I would say fantasy. Or dystopian. I'm such a dystopian nut lately.
ReplyDeleteI would probably write YA, either contemporary or paranormal because it's what I enjoy reading so it's what I know best. I think I'd stay away from the whole vampires-werewolves thing, unless I come up with a fresh angle.
ReplyDeleteIt could also be historical because I find doing research very interesting but it can be very hard to, so I don't know... :P
I dream of writing a book. I used to write a lot in HS but haven't for a while. If I ever do it would be paranormal. I really like the werewolf myths so I think it would be about them. I read a lot but haven't come up with something unique. I hope to one day.
ReplyDeleteCurrently working on a YA paranormal.
ReplyDeletelesly7ch(at)yahoo(dot)com
Yippee, I won! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI would definitely write some YA, probably paranormal romance. <3 Or maybe an awesome science fiction novel. I don't know, I always get a million ideas for books in my head every day, and I try to use all of them.
crystaldiamond101@gmail.com
I dream about publishing my own book or my own anthology someday. I have got quite a few poems lined up for that. Stories on the other hand..i am waiting for that kick-ass inspiration that just might be my big break. I have man drafts and ideas jotted down as they come but nothing definite planned yet. Hopefully someday soon
ReplyDeleteDystopian. It's my favorite type of story.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole "what if" factor it provokes. What if we did this or that, how would it effect our future and would it really turn out like some of these stories?
Just too much fun.
It'd certainly be a fantasy book with lots of romance!
ReplyDeletemilagp1(at)yahoo(dot)com(dot)br
It would be about a Haunted House. Of some sort. Its one of those often thought about but unable to put into words ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a romance suspense. I've been writing it in my head for years.

Well, I love paranormal and horror books...So if I were to write a book I'd probably write a horror/paranormal book with ghosts; or maybe something about angels.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is but I love reading horror books even though it just makes me completely paranoid, and anything angel-related gets my instant attention!
Well, i want do write something Urban Fantasy, with Demons ... actually i'm currently writing a story about a demon called Dante and a human girl called Light ... so yeah, that's what i like to write

I am writing a book... I'll tell you about it sometime. :)
ReplyDeleteLet's just say that because I know your taste, you'll love it.
I do write books. I write YA usually paranormal or dystopia with a paranormal twist.
ReplyDeleteI prefer reading, but if I were ever to actually write something of my own I think it would either be a mystery (set in the late 1890s to early 1910) or something dystopian/paranormalish.
ReplyDeleteI have a few ideas that I like to toss around, but at the moment no plan for actually getting around to writing them. ^_^
hauntingorchid (at) aol (dot) com
I actually do fantasize about it a lot. I'm always hoping to have one of those miracle book ideas that come in a dream, but it hasn't happened yet! I'd love to write a paranormal or dystopian, since they're my fav to read. But the thought of writing a novel is so intimidating that I often think about just writing a children's book!
ReplyDeleteI've been plotting and planning a YA series since the end of 2009 that's inspired by greek mythology, but I've only written a scene or two. I have OCD when it comes to planning everything out. If I don't know all the details and secrets and what's going to happen, I can't write. So frustrating! Because I'm so in love with my idea.
ReplyDeleteAlso have an idea for a YA supernatural in futuristic world that involves all sorts of paranormal beasties running about.
Maybe one day you'll be reviewing my books *sigh* A girl can dream! :D
I write YA fantasy, but I've always dreamed of writing an elaborate quest series through dozens of different worlds and dimensions, definitely involving enchanted toasters and one shy, slightly insecure guitarist.
ReplyDeleteHi =D
ReplyDeleteIt's cool that you're asking this question because I am currently writing the first book to my two-part novel.
I will be posting info on my current project on my blog soon.
Awesome Giveaway

I would write a Children's Picture Book - I don't think I have the talent to write a YA Lit Book just yet lol. I would try to write it for boys as there seem to be more for girls.
ReplyDeleteGreat Giveaway!

I would do something with the Fae,but I would make them as close to the Irish lore as possible. (if I didn't my ancestors would turn over in their graves LOL)

I still do think about writing a book. I've done and tried several books, but none of them started off well. I finally do have an idea, and I plan to put it on paper and see if it works out. All books I've tried to write are paranormal, most of them superheroes...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the amazing giveaway!

well I want to write a contemporary book, a chick-lit or romance, because nowadays many authors write books about mythical creatures, or paranormal. But I also want to write that kind of book, just the contemporary first and I will not make my male protagonist that perfect;))

I would write about somwething dealing with supernatural beings with a hint of romance in it because I enjoybooks like that myself. Probably mainly about vampires, werewolves and witches :)
ReplyDeleteThe title would probably be The Vampire that Stole my Heart

Not that it's my favorite genre, but I can definitely see myself writing a cozy mystery with lots of cats. They're short, fun, nothing serious... and I like cats.
ReplyDeleteI mostly read romance but I can't see myself writing one. My family loves to embarass me and I'd be horrified it they ever read something steamy I wrote.
