Find a Penny pick it up and all day long you’ll have good luck…except, of course, if that Penny is charming and pretty and funny, and the person picking her up just happens to be your boyfriend. Alice McKinley’s freshman year is not as “lucky” as she was hoping it would be. But she’s is trying to look on the bright side. There are worse things than being single for a semester… for a school year…for the whole summer…. At least Alice can count on her best friends for support—in theory, anyway. Lately they haven’t been all that there-for-her. In fact, it seems like Pam and Liz are suddenly involved in intense, secret conversations whenever Alice is around.
Single is starting to feel a whole lot like solo.
I saw this book and instantly fell in love with the cover! As I picked it up I realized just how thick of a book it is, and I got a little intimidated. I finally decided to get it, and I'll be honest, it sat on my shelf for a while because the size was daunting. I brought it to the beach because I thought I might be able to tackle it there, and I finished it in two days flat. I loved it! It's completely adorable and funny and I couldn't put it down. The best part about it is how down-to-earth it is. Alice is not a crazy, hyper, self-centered girl who cant say a sentence without saying "like" five-thousand times. She's a levelheaded freshmen who's wholly relatable. Therefore, I loved her. It's kind of difficult to pinpoint what exactly I liked about it so much because her life was so "normal". But even though it was normal, it was still thoroughly entertaining and hilarious! I'll will be starting It's Not Like I Planned It This Way soon, and I definitely think you should read I Like Him, He Likes Her!!
