  2. I haven't listened to an audiobook. I feel I can picture the situations more when I read a book :)

  3. Listened to Paranormalcy audiobook and I liked it. Would recommend it to anyone. One thing I don't like about that audiobook is that it was female reader through out the whole audiobook... when it comes to a male character she's reading it doesn't suit much with her voice.

  4. I loved pre-loved books and definitely want to give them a good home. That and you have a copy of "Blood & Flowers" which I am currently salivating over. ;)

PS: Latest audiobook I listened to (while reading the actual book, both from the library) was "Beauty Queens". I nearly died laughing.

  11. I listen to audio books ALL the time, because I have an hour long drive to and from work and it really makes time go by quicker.

My favorite one is City of Bones, the narrator really brought the story to life and her voice seemed to fit the characters perfectly, even for the guys.

  12. I heard about audiobooks quite a lot recently, but I haven't tried out any myself so far. I guess I do prefer reading the old fashioned way with the story playing in my own voice in my head while turning the pages.

  13. I have never listened to an audio book before BUT I was talking to Andye on Twitter and am now going to try audios. In fact a fellow blogger has offered to send me HP audios to try :)

  14. I don't think that I would choose an audiobook instead of a book, because I like to create all the scenes in my mind, but I read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with the audiobook at the same time and it was amazing. I liked the City of Fallen Angels audiobook too.

  15. Great books. You guys make me wanna try out audio books one more time. But unfortunatly I don´t do audiobooks that well. I attend to forget what everything is about, because I can´t focus, when I can´t see the words in front of me.. :(

  16. Great mailbox! I think your mailbox is the only times I see audiobooks! I never seen them being sold either. :\

  17. I've only listened to one audiobook, which was the Last Song and I liked it, but it was really long lol. I think I would really like them if I had a long road trip or something.

  18. I have listened to very few audiobooks, and when I mean few I really mean one. And it wasn't even a YA book. And it wasn't even a book most people would choose to listen to. It was Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis. Yep the crazy cochroach story; that's the audiobook I own.

However, the only reason I don't listen to more is because I don't have a radio in my car. Yes, it is true. But now with summer and the great posts you are all doing in honor of Audiobook Month I've decided to load my iPod with audios.

    Any suggestions to get started?

Thanks for the awesome that is you,

  19. I've listened to an audiobook a very long time ago, back when Audiobooks were solely on tape, but not recently. I liked it back in the day alright, but still prefer the feel of a book in my hands to audiobooks :) I'd recommend it to someone who travels a lot, though.

  20. I have actually never listened to an audiobook. I did have to record myself reading a chapter of a book for a drama summative though! I thought it turned out quite well ;) I'd like to try some audio books. Maybe I'll check out Beautiful Creatures from my library - I've never read it but I've heard so many wonderful things being said about it. Thanks!

  21. I love audiobooks and highly recommend them! The first audiobook I listened to was Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and it got me hooked! I frequently listen to them now.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I have listened to Tell Me a Secret, Matched, and Leviathan on audio. I liked it because I got to read while driving! The downside is that if you get distracted you miss some details and might get lost! And some narrators are better than others. The voice on Matched drove me insane, personally, but I LOVED Leviathan's narrator!

  23. I have listened to audio books before, it was read by the author, which was amazing, her accent added so much to the reading. Great IMM!

  24. I can never pay attention to audio books. When I listen I'll start thinking about something else and not here half of a chapter. THen I would be so lost. I know a bunch of people that do love them. It also depends on the reader.

  25. I've never listened to an audiobook before. I think I wouldn't be able to pay attention to the book and I'd have to re-listed parts because I can't concentrate :S

  26. I love audiobooks. I just don't read many because they're SO expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I've never listened to an entire audiobook, only snippets of ones from iTunes samples.
Generally I'm not a great listener and get distracted by shiny things, so reading is better for me, I think. Not that I wouldn't give audiobooks a chance! I heard Ed Westwick was one of voices of some audiobook I can't remember the title of but I heard his voice and swoooooned! His creepy Chuck Bass voice makes me shudder though D:

  28. I've never listened to an audiobook. I prefer to read the book because I tend to get more distracted when I'm listening to something (music, TV,...). And, call me old, but there's something magic about holding a real book! :)

  29. The first audio book I've ever listened to is Waterfall, by Lisa Bergren. I love that audiobook and now I'm waiting for the second one and the third books from amazon.
I only wish they have different narrators for each character..

    thanks for the giveaway!

  32. I have listened to audiobooks, especially when I was in school. I detested reading then, and they helped me tons when required to read classics. After graduating college, I fell in love with reading. And I read all the time now. So, I would diffently recommend them, especially to pass the time when taking long trips and when you want to tune others out when noise is around you.

  35. I tried to listen to an audiobook once...it just wasn't for me. Hearing the story in someone else's voice (instead of imagining the story in my mind) made it difficult to get into.

  36. As interested as I am in trying an audiobook, I have never listened to one.

  41. I absolutely love audiobooks and hope to start reviewing more on the blog! The last one I listened to was Bossypants by Tina Fey and it was hilarious! I also listened to City of Glass on audio and loved it. But of course my all time fave is Jim Dale and the HPs! Love them!!

  42. Lord, your IMM's always make me smile.

Yes. I have tried an audio book before, and I;m sad to say it didn't go so well. That's what I get though from getting it from my library which I must say is atrocious. The book itself was Australian, and even though I'm an Aussie myself, the reader accent and the way she read the book was just horrible.
That being said, I will try an audio book again. I just have to get my hands on an actually decent one =)

  44. The only audiobook I've ever listened to was Eragon, and that was at a friend's. Personally, I don't like audiobooks that much--I can read so much faster! And the readers somehow spoil it for me... I can't imagine the characters speaking because of their pleasant voices all the way through.

  54. I love listening to audio books in the car. I don't really drive much, especially in the summer when the kids are out of school so I probably only listen to about 4 a year, but I really enjoy them. Right now, I'm listening to The Hobbit.

  55. Till today I've only listened to 3 audiobooks : Vampires are forever by Lynsay Sands, Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer and Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I loved Shiver the best but sometimes I feel that the narrator reads too fast and this interferes with how I picture the scenes.
