Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life.
He was wrong.
Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive.
Where breaking the rules equals death.
But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape—his only real hope for survival—may be impossible.

My review:
It's pretty simple...
Variant was amazing.
In some ways Variant reminded me of a mix of The Enemy by Charlie Higson
and Gone by Michael Grant, but mostly it was nothing like I have ever read before.
I was practically on the edge of my seat the entire time, biting my nails
Just completely stressed out.
Robison Wells is a genius.
The way he put together the story was absolutely perfect.
The suspense this book had was great, plus the twists were crazy.
And along with everything, the character development was incredible.
I will definitely read Variant again and again!
I'm so excited for the sequel, because the ending of Variant was a freaking cliffhanger!
If you love books that you seriously, can't put down, read Variant.
