Amy's Review
Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.
So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
But she, for whatever reason, spares Cas's life.

My Review:
First off, I must say that Kendare Blake is a dang great author.
And from reading my mom (Amy)'s review of Anna Dressed In Blood you can probably tell that she agree's with me on that.
My mom absolutely loved this book. Loved, loved it.
I thought I would love it too.
Since most of the books my mom has suggested I read I've liked.
I decided to give this one a try, because it sounds like a nice, creepy read.
But aside from Blake's great writing, I found myself bored.
I wanted to love this book so badly!
But for me, I just liked it.
It didn't meet all of my wants for me to love it.
I'm thinking maybe sometime in the future though, I'll give it another try.
I think it deserves that. And who knows, maybe then I'll love just like my mom did.
One things for sure, I did really love Cas.
He kinda inspired me to be on the look out for a ghost-hunting boyfriend...

And ust so we're clear, I'm not hating on this book. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I know a ton of people who would love this book a lot. I mean, if want a quick, creepy read, Anna Dressed In Blood is for you! So don't walk away from this review thinking Anna Dressed In Blood is an awful book because I personally didn't love it. You never know, you may just love it (;

  2. I've been hearing about this book up and down the blogosphere. And I like creepy, but I'm not sure this would be my cup of tea. I appreciate the honesty! :)
