Carmen Ferreiro - Esteban
In this coming-of-age story set in a medieval kingdom, Andrea is a headstrong princess longing to be a knight who finds her way to modern-day California. But her accidental return to her family's kingdom and a disastrous romance brings war, along with her discovery of some dark family secrets. Readers will love this mix of traditional fantasy elements with unique twists and will identify with Andrea and her difficult choices between duty and desire.
My thoughts...
This book was very enjoyable. I am really starting to enjoy time traveling books. I loved the premise of this book... A very headstrong teenager ready to explode because she wants to do and be something different than what her parents want her to be.
I am talking about the main character Andrea of course. Her very distant parents want her to be a lady, which is understandable because this is in medieval times and she is a princess. This princess is not your typical princess though, she longs to be a fighter to go head to head with squires. This book really starts to get good when Andrea finds her Uncle Tio Ramiro's portal, and travels into a very modern day California. This is where she meets the man of dreams... John and falls completely head over heels. Of course Andrea is forced to return to her palace back in medieval times but brings John along with her. Like I said she is very headstrong and she stops at nothing to get what she wants.
Andrea is definitely the show stopper in this book, I really didn't care for any of the other characters. However, it was pretty fast paced and it had some very funny moments. So, what it lacked in character development Two Moon Princess made up for it in the storyline. Like I said I enjoyed this book, and if you love romantic, time travel books with a humor thrown in and a clever, determined main character... then snatch this book up. You will thank me :)
