Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?Obviously, the first thing that interested me in this book was the title. I absolutely love it. The second was that the entire book is only written about a twenty-four hour period. Which I find really cool. Honestly, I was thinking: How on earth can enough happen it twenty-four hours to fill an entire book? Well it can. Jennifer pulled it off amazingly. Nothing felt rushed or awkward, the story was completely cute and lovable, even in that short amount of time.
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A.
Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.
I also loved Hadley, she's charming and funny, and even though she's been through a lot and she's strong, she also isn't afraid to let-go and let herself have fun. Oh, Oliver. I didn't just love Oliver, I adored him. He was absolutely perfect. I could not find one single thing wrong with him. Not one. So basically I'll never be satisfied with any real guys because of this book;)
The only problem I had with it is:
When you fly on a plane, you get stuck next to weird old men who smell like cheetos. You DO NOT get to sit next to completely adorable, hilarious, single, british guys. It just does NOT happen. Is this just what happens to me? Because if so, it's entirely unfair.
My plane-ride expectations have skyrocketed. And I blame Jennifer;)
