This book.
Dead To You was absolutely incredible.
I haven't really ever been a huge fan of Lisa McMann's work.
I mean, I'm not saying she isn't a great, great author. I'm just saying that her previous books have never grabbed me the way Dead to You did.
The story was very interesting.
I would try to predict what would end up happening, and was proven way way way wrong.
It had some great twists and turns!

I just feel like I would have liked it a lot more if it maybe had a different narrator.
The only voices I seriously could not stand was Cami and Gracie's voices.
(although I loved the characters!)
I mean, I don't really expect a guy narrator to do girls voices perfectly, haha, but that was my only complaint.
So I'm thinking about buying the hardback, re-reading it, and giving a more in depth review.

Profanity - Very Heavy
Sexual - Mild
Other - Heavy

  1. I haven't read any of her books ever, but this one seems like a good one to start with. I don't really like audio books. I'm more of a visual person so I have to see the book. Plus, the voices are rarely good for all the parts. There have been a few exceptions, but you're right, guys don't do good girl parts. Well, I take that back. I listened to Papertowns by John Green and the guy that narrated did girl voices pretty well. He was funny, too. I still would rather read it.

  2. I haven't read any of her books. I've heard really awesome things about this book though. This is the first I have heard about the audio. I think I would get this in HC to read. Thanks for the great review!
