Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
My Mini-Review of the Book Itself:
Wow. Just wow. I forgot how much I'm completely in love with Stephanie Perkins' writing. I seriously feel like I need to go back and read Anna and the French Kiss again. I just want to live in these books forever. I love Lola, she's very creative, and doesn't care if people think her outfits are crazy, which is something I really respected and admired about her. Sometimes I feel like I could use a bit of that attitude:)... And OH MY GOSH CRICKET. Thank you. Now, thanks to you, I will never ever be satisfied with any guy for my entire life. But it might just have been worth it. I'm not even kidding.
About the Audiobook:
I actually really liked the reader for this book, which is a rarity, I hardly ever like girl readers. I'm not sure why I don't care for them, I think their voices just usually get on my nerves. But I thought Shannon McManus did a great job and she actually sounded like I would imagine Lola sounding! So if you like audiobooks (or even if you don't) I would definitely recommend this one!
