Welcome to Second Hand Saturday!
In an attempt to clear our bookshelves, and pass on great used books to ourstalkersfollowers, Amy, Kit, Abigaile, Austin and I have decided to hold weekly giveaways of some of the books on our bookshelves! Every Saturday, we will post the books available, and the following Saturday, we will announce the winner and our next challenge. The winner will get to choose a book from the list and we will ship it to that lucky person! Each week we will have a different challenge to complete.
This Week's Question:
Today, we are headed to a book signing for Tahereh Mafi, Veronica Rossi, and Anna Carey. Have you ever been to an author signing? If not, who would you like to go see?

Never been to an author signing. I think I'd want to go to any of my favorite authors' book signings! :)
ReplyDeletefrequentreader19 (at) gmail (dot) com
Yes! I recently went to my first! I saw Kelley Armstrong in Toronto! I had a blast!
ReplyDeleteI've been to dozens of book signings! I used to live in Edinburgh, Scotland, where one of the biggest book festivals in the world is held yearly. I've met Neil Gaiman, Ian Rankin, Eoin Colfer, Stuart Hill, Terry Deary, Edwin Morgan, -- lots of people. And here in Salt Lake I've met Aprilynne Pike, Shannon Hale, -- and even Stephenie Meyer, which is rather funny, in retrospect.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, in all my time living in Edinburgh, I never did meet JK Rowling (who lives there, too), so she's the one I'd meet if I could!
I met Robin Palmer and she signed my copy of Cindy Ella! (: Hopefully I'll go to more in the future!
ReplyDeleteI haven't, and I want to meet Jackson Pearce!
ReplyDeleteI have been to many. The one I am most excited for is Cassandra Clare!
ReplyDeleteJEALOUS! Have fun :D I have never been. But I am going to see Veronica Roth and Michelle Hodkin and Beth Revis and a few more at Ascendio in July :D:D Cannot wait. <3 Veronica Roth is my favorite author :) Also would love to meet Kristin Cashore. <3 :D And Cassandra Clare :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Carina
I wish I could go to some book signings.. I would love to go to Jennifer Armentrout and Cassandra Clare would be another awesome one. Colleen Houck because her books are amazing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Amy!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a few good authors you are getting to meet. I have always wanted to meet Patricia Briggs.
T_____________T You are sooooooooo lucky T_T Not living in the US really stinks when you're such a fan of YA T_T but well enjoy for those of us who can't go!! Tahereh T_T
ReplyDelete^_^ I'd loooove to meet Maggie Stiefvater, Leah Clifford, Tahereh Mafi, Kimberly Derting, Daisy Whitney, Mike Mullin, Rachel Vincent Gayle Forman...though I think I die if I ever truly meet all of them if I get speechless and all starstruck when they reply to my comments or tweet back to me I can just imagine what would happen if I met them in person!
Again, have fun!
ps. Sorry I've been a silent stalker lately...I've been stalking you guys mostly on twitter but I'm back now after row and row and row of long illnesses lol :P so BEWARE
I think I'd like to go to a signing by John Green. The Fault in Our Stars would be great to get signed. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteI've had the amazing opportunity to go to a number of signings, plus BEA a few years! My favorite so far was getting insulted by Lemony Snicket :) And Sunday I'm going to the NY Spring Into the Future tour signing and I am SUPER excited to see Tahereh Mafi and all the other authors there :D
ReplyDeleteNever been to a signing. I was hoping that I'd be in London when J. K. Rowling's new book is coming out, but unfortunately I'm not. But that would have been cool!
ReplyDeleteNever have been to an author signing. I would LOVEEEEE to meet JOHN GREEN and his brother :) They are the best but you know John is more awesome than Hank because John writes :)
ReplyDeleteI am from Romania so the dream is far away from becoming true but you never know, let's stay optimistic :) Dreams sometimes become reality.
xoxo
Congratulations, Amy! ^^
ReplyDeleteI never been going to signing book ever. If i could go sometimes, I would love to meet J.K. Rowling to signed my Harry Potter's collection. But since i lived in Indonesia, i think it only daydreaming for me :(
Wow, this is great! I haven't, but I would love to meet Taherah Mafi. It would be a great opportunity for me to ask her questions. :)
ReplyDeleteI adore signings whenever I can actually get to one. I was lucky enough to travel to NYC for the NYC Teen Author Festival last week and met so many beloved authors! There are some local authors near me coming on the 20th, too.
ReplyDeleteThey're so much fun. I always love meeting everyone! I wanted to go to a signing in NYC with Veronica Rossi, Taherah Mafi, and Lauren Oliver tomorrow, but I don't want to pay to go to NYC again. Boo, oh well!
I haven't been to a signing but i can't wait until i do. I live in England, so authors only really come to the big cities so i miss out.
ReplyDeleteI have been to a book signing. It's a lot of fun, especially if the author gives a bit of a talk & a reading too.
ReplyDeleteI have unfortunately never been to a book signing. I would like to see Stephenie Meyer, Nicholas Sparks, or Sarah Dessen.
ReplyDeleteI have been to one book signing with author Margaret Peterson Haddix. It was a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI've been to one book signing before with a children's book author that I can not remember her name. But I would love to go to a book signing with Jodi Picoult, Jonathan Kellerman or Michael Connelly.
ReplyDeleteNever been to one :(
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go and see Veronica Roth!
I wish!, but sadly no :(. If I could meet any author it would be Veronica Roth I salute her in 'Divergent' ;D
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a book signing but would love to see:
ReplyDelete. Harlan Coben
. Jodi Picoult
. Mo Willems
Well first, I'm completely jealous of you! I want to go to that signing! I've been to one, for a local girl who decided to write a book and it got published.. sadly, it wasn't very good and I couldn't finish. I'd love to go to a bigger signing, but I live in the middle of nowhere and authors don't come within a 3-4 hour drive of me :(
ReplyDeleteSome on my list are Victoria Schwab, Michelle Hodkins, and Christopher Paoulini.
I have never been to an author signing. To be honest, I think that it would be amazing to meet any of the authors of the books I've read - they are BRILLIANT people! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd say top of my list: Charlaine Harris, JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, Laurell K. Hamilton, JR Ward, Julie Kagawa, Megan Miranda, Becca Fitzpatrick, and Laura Ingalls Wilder!
Sadly, =( I have never been to an author signing. But they are cool events for both authors and readers. I'd love to go to one sometime. I think I'd ask the authors too many questions about writing, though. xD I'd have to restrain myself. If I ever went to one, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet Veronica Rossi, Lisa Bergren, Erynn Mangum, Melody Carlson, Deeanne Gist or Siri Mitchell. They all seem like such fun people! If I could meet ANY author, I would want to meet C. S. Lewis or Tolkien, but I doubt that will ever happen on this side of heaven. =P
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a book signing :S I like to meet J.K. Rowling. Tahareh Mafi is on my list too because she is so fun and funny :D
ReplyDeleteI have never been to an author signing before. I would love to see J.K. Rowling and Cassandra Clare. Both authors are amazing and Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments are my two absolute favorite series of all time. All the books I own and have read multiple times. Both authors have created such exciting worlds, creating magic with their writings. I will forever being reading these books and future books to come from these two authors.
ReplyDeleteI live in Florida and surprisingly there aren't too many book signings here. So far I've been to a Catherine Gilbert Murdock and Rick Yancey signing at the library I work at. Both of them were really nice and funny.
ReplyDeleteThe authors I would LOVE to meet are J.K. Rowling, Colleen Houck, Lani Woodland, Cassandra Clare, Scott Westerfeld, Stacy Jay, Kelly Creagh, Maggie Stiefvater and Lisa Mangum.
Hope you guys have fun!
I have been to some book signings at some book fairs and library workshops before. They are cool. I would like to meet John Green, J.K.Rowling and Charles Dickens. (You didn't say living or dead.)
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a book signing yet. there is a local bookstore that has author signings, I've just never been yet. I would love to meet J.K. Rowling, J.R. Ward, Jackie Collins, Charlaine Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to an author signing before, but my dream would be to go to a signing with Stephen King!
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet Veronica Roth. I'm so excited to read Insurgent. Would love to join the signing you guys are attending today.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to go to a signing yet though I'm constantly on the look-out for my favorite authors. They always seem to coincide with school or other obligations. I cannot wait to go to one though! I would absolutely love to meet Sarah Dessen. :]
ReplyDeleteI have been to author signings for Ally Condie, Richard Paul Evans, and Jennifer Nielsen. I would love to meet J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins!!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a book signing. I'd love to meet Suzanne Collins, JK Rowling, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Judith McNaught. I live in a small town in Indiana, so I'd have to travel to Chicago probably to meet many popular authors.
ReplyDeleteI want to meet the very authors you are going to see. Some of them are coming near me in May. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteNever been to a books signing but would love to meet Suzanne Collins, JK Rowling, Cassandra Clare, Laini Taylor, John Green, Tahereh Mafi. I live in Tx but most of the places are too far for me to go to but I would die if I ever met anyone of them
ReplyDeleteI got to see Jodi Picoult in Hadley, MA! She read from "Sing Me Home" and answered questions, and signed books. When it was my turn, she complimented my Tinkerbell necklace, and I had a fangirl crush for weeks!
ReplyDeleteLisa Rose
I have never been to a book signing event before, but I have been lucky enough to have authors sign their books during lectures and such. The most notable was Gloria Steinem(one of my heroes). If I were to go to a book signing, I would seek out Neil Gaiman, and probably make a fool of myself in the process!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a book signing before, I would love to get to go to a Charlaine Harris, Gena Showalter or Kresley Cole one.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to an author signing but if I could I'd like to meet JK Rowling and someone who's already passed away unfortunately, Marion Zimmer Bradley, The Mists of Avalon's author.
ReplyDeleteI have unfortunately never been to a signing, but I would love love LOVE to meet Jeri Smith-Ready!! (So upset I can't go to Team Kilt Con D':)
ReplyDeleteI've been to a couple of signings. I could keep going if the authors would just bloody come here. I need to see Kirsten Hubbard!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to an author signing, but I'd love to go to one. The author I'd like to see most is either Jeri Smith-Ready or Julia Quinn. I love them both so much. :) Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletejeep_wrangler_girl@yahoo.com
I have never been to an author signing before but I would like to very much. There are so many different authors I would love to meet. Like Stephanie Meyers, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Etc. Thanks for the giveaway. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI have been to a few signings. One of my favorites was Laurie Halse Anderson. There are too many authors I love to mention. I would be willing to go to any of their signings.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Andrea Cremer, Marie Lu, and Meg Cabot's book signing.
ReplyDeleteWent to Kelley Armstrong and Maggie Stiefvater's singings. Tomorrow I'll be seeing Kiersten White as she's in London for a trip :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was when I attended ALAN. I got to meet John Green (and had him sign ALL my books LOL), plus Veronica Roth (Divergent for the win!) and Laurie Halse Anderson (my literary hero!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome feature,
Elisquared
Nop ;( I haven't! But I would love to meet Richelle Mead, Nora Roberts and Lisa Kleypas!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to an author signing before, but if I had the chance to go to one, I'd want to go to one with Heather Brewer, Rick Riordan, or Cassandra Clare. I love their books and writing styles, and I would love to get the chance to meet them in person. It would be awsome! XD
ReplyDeleteI've never been to an author signing..
ReplyDeleteBut I would really like to meet and have my books signed by J.K. Rowling, Suzanne Collins and Cassandra Clare..:D
I've been to signings for Gail Carriger and Laurie King before. I would love to go to a signing with Cassandra Clare, Lauren Oliver, Maggie Stiefvater and Veronica Roth. As it is, Veronica Rossi, Taherah Mafi and Anna Carey are all coming to my state next month. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been to any author book signings, but I would love to go go one! The authors I would die to see are Chloe Neill, Jana Oliver, and Richelle Mead. Their books are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a book signing, but would love to go to one. I would love to go to a signing with Tahereh Mafi, Veronica Roth, Cassandra Clare, Suzanne Collins and J.K Rowling. All AMAZING authors.
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet Kelley Armsrong. I almost drove over 200 miles to meet her a few years ago but I ended up having to pump $500 of repairs into my car instead :(
ReplyDeleteThe only author signings I've been to were at ALA 2010, where I saw a ton of different authors. There are a lot of authors I would love to meet. But signings are secondary; what I really want is to make a friend!
ReplyDeleteI've been to a few...Neil Gaiman, Raymond Feist, Ann M. Martin, Sherman Alexie, Sue Grafton to name a few. I haven't been to any in a while though! I would love to see Julie Kazagawa though.
ReplyDeleteI'm finally starting to go to a few. I will probably continue to attend them, they're interesting.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a signing as all my favorite authors live in other countries or even continents:)
ReplyDeleteBut i'd love to meet and have my books signed by my favorite authors, JK Rowling, Laure Kate, Richelle Mead, and so many others...
I've seen Cassandra Clare, Melissa Marr, Elizabeth Eulberg, Rachel Hawkins, Jay Asher, Claudia Gray, Beth Revis, Andrea Cremer, Ally Carter, Jessica Spotswood and Marie Lu. Wow, I didn't realize there were so many!
ReplyDeleteI've been to one book signing for Rachel Hawkins, but there are tons of authors I'd still love to meet: Sarah J. Maas, Leigh Bardugo, Laurie Halse Anderson, Veronica Roth, Rae Carson, Suzanne Collins, and (no surprise) JK Rowling. Gosh that's a lot. It's too bad that no one ever comes around my area.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a book signing, but I would love to to one. I would love to meet Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, Kendare Blake and Veronica Roth.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a book signing before, but I would love to got to either cassandra clares, or shannon hale.

Julie Kagawa, Marie Lu, Maggie Stiefvater, Jennifer Echols, Sophie Jordan, Suzanne Collins, Colleen Houck, Michelle Moran, Orson Scott Card... I could think of more, but I'm turning this book signing attendance into a full time job:)!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a book signing but I would like to meet Marian Keys, Stephanie Perkins and Jodi Picoult.
ReplyDeleteI've been to a couple signings by Beth Revis, one of which also included Stephanie Perkins and Carrie Ryan. I'd love to go to signings by authors like Libba Bray and Tamora Pierce, though.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a book signing. I live in a rather small town, and the next big town over is 3 hours away. D: I just don't have the time, but I would love to go o a book signing. Any YA author would be great to meet, but I would love to meet Libba Bray. Her books are just amazing.
