“I’ll grow wings all by myself.”

Mary is a young artist about to enter a new chapter in her life. After years of waiting and searching, she has finally found true love. She’s also just discovered that her fiancĂ© Joshua has inherited his father’s rundown countryside mansion. To add to the rising pressure, her wedding day is so close she can practically hear the music. All she has to do is accept what the future holds. Accept…and be happy.

But something’s missing.

As the seasons change, her doubts turn to fears, and her fears become reality. Through struggle and loss, the love she once possessed for Joshua transforms into contempt. When Mary is confronted with a magical escape, the life she has and the life she dreams of will collide, awakening a mysterious change within. But no choice comes without cost, and each one will draw her closer to the truth.

At times both beautiful and haunting, Winter Sparrow dares you to step into a world where eternity is a moment and every breath is a second chance. The fantasy begins….
This book took my breath away. I am mesmerized with the way Estevan Vega writes, he is truly a genius. "Visceral...Poetic...Beautiful" wrote John Valeri of the Hartford Book Examiner, well those are my thoughts exactly! Winter Sparrow was full of emotion; romance, sorrow and excitement. This book will fill you with intrigue, it's intense and sinister plot will have you biting your lower lip. I really didn't know what to expect, I've never read any of Estevan's books. Arson and Ashes are some of Abigaile's favorites books of all time. Go read her reviews, you will see that Estevan has quite a talent!

I'm not saying that reading this book will leave a smile on your face, it will however, leave you wanting more for sure. It will leave you thinking about this deep, dark story for quite sometime. Winter Sparrow is somewhat depressing, but in a good way. Mary goes through a major loss, but true love gets her through it. Joshua is very passionate and just plain crazy for Mary. He is ready to be a loving, devoted husband to Mary. Joshua always knows what he wants, Mary is never as confident in her decisions as her husband, she is sad and never fully satisfied. I wanted to smack her sometimes, but everyone has to see what they truly have, to fully appreciate it. I see this book as Mary's road to redemption. You will fall in love with this couple and you will be terrified when things start to fall apart. Let me just say... what happens to Mary and Joshua is so freakin' unexpected... it will blow your mind! Remember when I said that this book was sinister, well the antagonist is truly evil. You don't see him coming, yet when it happens, you'll sit up a bit straighter saying... "What. Just. Happened." Winter Sparrow is so unpredictable yet delectable. That sounded corny, I know, but it's true. Estevan Vega should write music, that's how I felt about this book. Extremely passionate writing.

Great quick Halloween read! Go get it now. You can thank me later.

This is an adult book. I do not take content down for Winter Sparrow. If you are under 18 yr. of age, read at own risk.

  1. I love the cover! And I totally love the line "eternity is a moment and every breath is a second chance" :)) and i love ur review, i'm intrigued with winter sparrow..though is it scary? Lol.

  2. No not scary, just intense. It has it's moments of heart racing just a little more than usual, very well done, not scary.

  3. This sounds really great. I loved Arson and still have to get to Ashes, but his writing is very good so I will definitely have to get this. Fantastic review!
