Hmmm... I'm not sure what I think about this narrator. Maybe it's just the excerpt, but it sounds a little flat.
ReplyDeleteHowever, this book cover has been intriguing me ever since we got it in at my store. And there are very few narrators I don't end up enjoying even if I find them odd at first :)
I like this one better than the one yesterday (Burn for Burn). I still don't know if I could listen to the whole book all the way through.
ReplyDeleteHmm this narrator sounds like a little squeaky girl. She's also kinda monotone. Why is it so hard to get a good narrator?
ReplyDeleteThis has been the best one yet. The enunciation and emotions aren't over done and the feeling of despair comes through quite well without overkill.
ReplyDeleteThis narrator isn't great for me, but sometimes it takes a bit for a reader to grow on me. It might just be this particular excerpt, but she seems too quiet and almost like she is losing her voice. I can tell she is trying to show the emotion, but I'm not convinced of it. I do think she is a voice I would get used to quickly though. It's not annoying like some that I've heard.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one! Dripping with dispair and angst. She also sounds like a teenager which really goes with the book!
ReplyDeleteThis one sound great as well!
ReplyDeleteI like this narrator. She sounds almost creepy.
ReplyDeleteI think the narrator does a great job.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about this narratar....I think she needs to put more emphasis on words and put more emotion into the reading.
ReplyDeleteI love the voice of the narrator. She really plays the part. :)
ReplyDeleteThe voice didn't jump out to me for this character but I hope the tone and timbre change for each character, the synopsis seems interesting!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the narrator puts emotion into her voice. I can't resist!
ReplyDeleteShe does sound kind of monotone, but I'm sure it's to set the mood of the character. Hopefully it's not that way through the whole book.
ReplyDeleteThis one alright but she lacks the emotion needed to really make this story intersting enough to stick with. I think that I would fall asleep after listening for a while. Thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteI like this excerpt. It sounds very poetic and the narrator performs it so well.
ReplyDeleteThe narrator is a little monotone, but the book itself sounds awesome :D
ReplyDeleteShe sounds like a little girl! lol Doesn't sound like there's too much emotion in her voice either.
ReplyDeleteThe narrator sounds exactly like the girl on the cover! She sounds young and a little creepy which probably matches the book too!
