Rebel Heart
by Moira Young
Dust Lands #2 (Blood Red Road)
Read by: Heather Lind
Reading level: Ages 14 and up
Hardcover: Unabridged
Publisher: Simon Audio
Language: English

It seemed so simple: Defeat the Tonton, rescue her kidnapped brother, Lugh, and then order would be restored to Saba’s world. Simplicity, however, has proved to be elusive. Now, Saba and her family travel west, headed for a better life and a longed-for reunion with Jack. But the fight for Lugh’s freedom has unleashed a new power in the dust lands, and a formidable new enemy is on the rise.

What is the truth about Jack? And how far will Saba go to get what she wants? In this much-anticipated follow-up to the riveting Blood Red Road, a fierce heroine finds herself at the crossroads of danger and destiny, betrayal and passion.

  1. Heather Lind's work is great, she has talent for capturing emotions and drawing a listener in!! :)

  2. Wow. As if the story itself isn't already exciting enough, the narration of it is beautiful. I love the clear voice of the narrator who's just manages to catch my attention!

  3. Although I don't really think she is the best choice of reader for this series, I think I would get used to her quickly. Like I said in the post for Blood Red Road, I just thought the dialect would be more pronounced, and maybe it is, but these excerpts don't give us a good idea of it. I do really like her voice though, just maybe not for this series.

  4. I'm so excited for this one. I think she is a good narrator.

  5. Sounds interesting. I would love to listen to more! *hint hint* :P

  6. I really like listening to Heather Lind read.....she could probably read the back of a cereal box and make it sound interesting.

  7. This narrator is OK. I think this book would be a good listen.

  8. I think she is so perfect for this series. I can't wait to read book two!

  9. She sounds pretty good! Can't wait for book two :)

  10. This narrator is good but it doesn't sound very interesting to me. It sounds a little dull.

  11. This narrator is ok. A little dry & could add a little emotion to it. The story sounds good but she's just not getting that across. Thanks for the chances to win the audio books. I enjoyed listening to the excerpts of each story.

  12. I liked this reader. I thought she did a good job of keeping the suspence factor up. Yesterday's reader was trying too hard to sound folksy I think.

  13. I liked this one a lot, the reader has a nice voice, probably my favorite out of the ones listed here after Poison Princess.
