22 Arcana cards. 22 young assassins. May the best hand live.
She could save the world - or destroy it.
Sixteen-year-old Evangeline 'Evie' Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future - and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.
But she can't do either alone.
With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can't totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?
Who can Evie trust?
As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But ii's not always clear who is on which side....

I've never listened to an audio book before, so this comes from an amateur . . .
ReplyDeleteThe reader isn't bad, and made necessary emphasis points where they should be made so my brain would kind of spark whenever I hear it c: Love the storyline already, and yes, I NEED to read Poison Princess!

I have been wondering about whether to pick up this book the synopsis didn't really catch my attention but I think the voice actor distinct voice draws me in. I would get the audio version to continue this book.

ReplyDeleteThat line sounds very similar to the Hunger Games.

Sounds intriguing. This cover has been catching my interest and I love me a good audiobook!
ReplyDeleteI think I've heard this narrator before maybe.
ReplyDeleteI love audio books! I've definitely heard this narrator before. I like how she sounds to be age appropriate and gives good inflection.
ReplyDeleteI love audiobooks. I like the reader, she sounds convincing. I will have to see if I can find a clip with the male reader. I really like when there is a male and female if the book switches POV's (like the Legend audiobook, that's one of my favorites!) This book sounds really good and I think the audio of it would be really awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love listening to audiobooks in my car! This one sounds great with a nice voice! Thanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteI like how the narrator captures a touch of teen angst but can also shift into practical needs of getting out of the situation without keeping the angry teen voice.
ReplyDeleteThis narrator does sound a lot like the Hunger Games narrator. That is a good thing to me that is. I have already added this audiobook to my Audible.com wish-list last week! I can't wait to get it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win it!! :D

ReplyDeleteI would love to get this audio. Narrator works for me! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI really like the narrator for Poison Princess! She is the same one who does the audio for Divergent.

ReplyDeleteI love this narrator & I'm happy to see that she also does Divergent because that's what I'm listening to next. Thanks for always having such great giveaways.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading Poison Princess yesterday, and I was just thinking how awesome it would be to listen to the audiobook because of the cajun accents!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I can't get the audio clip to come up so I can listen to it. I have a blank white space where it should be, and refreshing the page doesn't help. I would love to win these so I could listen to them. I haven't read any of them yet.
ReplyDeleteOh that stinks! Well, if you want to check it out, you can listen to samples of all of them on Audible! You can listen to this one here
DeleteSounds cool!
ReplyDeleteI thought that the reader/narrator sounded great! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love the readers accent! I never listened to audiobooks until last week. I started my first one on Thursday and now I'm hooked! Thanks for the chance :0)

Love me some Emma Galvin!! I knew this was her before I even looked; very distinct voice, she did the narration for Divergent & Insurgent. The story sounds intriguing; that combined with other reviews that I've read pretty much guarantee that I'm going to read this book.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, Emma G could read almost anything & I'd listen, lol.

I love her voice. This is a book I have want to get into since it came out.

ReplyDeleteI thought the reader did a good job with emphasis, etc. I would definitely like to listen further:)
ReplyDeleteI loved the snippet. I have to buy this audiobook.
ReplyDeleteIs the character supposed to have a southern accent? If so, this is great. The narrator does sound nasally but her emphasis is right on.
ReplyDeleteI listen to a lot of audiobooks and I really liked the narrator for this book.
ReplyDeleteI love audiobooks, and this sample sounds good. I would definitely listen to this one.
ReplyDeleteAudiobooks!!
