After 450 years of living, Nastasya Crowe should have more of a handle on this whole immortal thing....I have loved this series from the moment I picked up Immortal Beloved (Go check out my first book vlog :)), and of course Darkness Falls was even better. Like I've said in the past, Cate Tiernan is one of my favorite authors. She really knows how to write an awesome story with a great plot, her details into the characters are well thought out. I really cannot write this review without repeating myself over and over. I'm sure I've said all this already. If you read this series, you'd be crazy not to finish it. And if you haven't start the Immortal Beloved series, you'll love all the romance, magic and suspense.
After a deadly confrontation at the end of Darkness Falls, the second Immortal Beloved novel, Nastasya Crowe is, as she would put it, so over the drama. She fights back against the dark immortals with her own brand of kick-butt magick...but can she fight against true love? In the satisfying finale to the Immortal Beloved trilogy, ex-party-girl immortal Nastasya ends a 450-year-old feud and learns what "eternally yours" really means.
Laced with historical flashbacks and laugh-out-loud dialogue, the Immortal Beloved trilogy is a fascinating and unique take on what it would mean to live forever.
Nastasya is living at River's Edge, a home for immortals. It is set present day, however Nastasya has many memories of her life. She is 450 years old, so the author takes you back in the past quite a bit. I like those parts of the book, just because you'll understand the way Nastasya thinks. Everyone at River's Edge is such a strong unique character, they definitely grow on you. Nastasya is still in love with Reyn, and yes, they still fight like cats and dogs (when they are not kissing in the haystacks, of the barn). So much happens in this book, the main battle scene is really intense. New characters are introduced, as well as the old favorites are still around. Of course, Nastasya keeps growing on everyone, trying to be kind and helpful. Reyn drives her crazy as always. He has turned out to be one of my favorite leading male roles. The bird poop really hits the fan in this last book of the series. So be ready to sweat it out!
I'm really sad this series is over. I could have kept reading about Nastasya, Reyn and the interesting group of immortals at Rivers Edge. Oh well, all good things come to an end right?
