Set after Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me and before Unravel Me, the spellbinding sequel, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.
In Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she'll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of . . .
Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner's father, the Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son's mistakes, it's clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.

 At a Glance:

This book takes place immediately after Shatter Me (my review) from Warner's perspective. It's a heart wrenching look into Warner's mind. The name of this book is dead on.

Not so much, just Warner thinking about past events (Shatter Me)

Juliette for driving Warner absolutely crazy

Warner - He is totally swoonworthy girls.

Favorite Supporting Character:

Juliette (in Warner's dreams)

Something I loved:

Juliette's journal. Reading her passages where absolutely poetic.

Something(s) I hated:

Warner's father!

Yes and No.

If you haven't read Unravel Me, then Yes!

If you wait to read this afterward (which you totally can, just not recommended), then No!

Would I recommend it?

Yes!!!!!! Read this BEFORE you read Unravel Me, it will make so much more sense to know what Warner is thinking/feeling. Warner is in Unravel Me quite a bit, so Destroy Me will help.

Did my friends like it?

Yes, my very close friend Kerri Maniscalco just loved it. She is probably still swooning over Warner.

Will I buy/keep it?

I already bought the Kindle edition on Amazon. Super cheap. If it came out in hardback, yes, I would buy it.

  1. I have mixed emotions about Warner. I purchased this but review books overtook me -- I need to finish this and move on to Unravel me. Thanks for the motivation.
