Scarlet: Lunar Chronicles Book 2 By Merissa Meyer

Reading level: Ages 12 and up
Hardcover: 464 pages
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends (February 5, 2013)

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.
Reagan is from our Tween site, and she's here to talk about one of her favorite series, The Lunar Chronicles, and the newest book, Scarlet:

This book was kick-butt awesome! I mean lately I've been saying that, but this book and Cinder are a cut above the rest. It's nothing at all like I've ever read before. People try to re-create the Grimm Brother's fairy tales. Only a spare few succeeded, Marissa Meyer is at the top. Even those people who aren't into fairy tale books will fall in love with the Lunar Chronicles.  The top stuff I look for in books are, action (a must), a little bit of romance at the least, and a person who's brave. Anyway that's off subject. Let's do the questions!  If you haven't read Cinder yet, make sure you do, here's my review!

Do you still hate Kai?

First off I don't hate him. To answer the question yes. I think he's a low life jerk. Plus he cares nothing about other people (mainly Cinder).

......... Your a bit harsh. So who DO you like (If you do like anyone)?

I like some people!!!!!! To answer, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cinder! She's a freakin' cyborg! Plus *Note don't read if you haven't read Cinder* She's a Lunar Princess!

True, true. anyone else?

Iko and Scarlett! Scarlett's a kick-butt warrior. Iko is hilarious.

Tell us where this takes place

France! I personally love France. I want to go there

So how about the romance?

There is romance, between Scarlet and Wolf and Cinder still loves Kai.

What about the plot?

The plot? Well Cinder is escaping jail with a new companion. She doesn't know if she can trust him but she must. Meanwhile Scarlet is looking for her missing grandmother she meets Wolf who says he knows who took her grandmother and where she is.

Who would love this book

Everyone would love it.   Tween or teenager, boy or girl, fantasy or Si-Fi.  Just read it!
