Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away.

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy that takes over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. But Wanderer, the invading "soul" who occupies Melanie's body, finds its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
As Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she's never met. Soon Wanderer and Melanie-reluctant allies-set off to search for the man they both love.
Featuring one of the most unusual love triangles in literature, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel about the persistence of love and the essence of what it means to be human.

At a Glance:

Melanie refused to be taken over by the aliens that have taken over earth. She needs to be okay if only to take care of her brother Jamie. When she meets Jared and falls completely in love with him, now she has two, very good reasons, not to get taken. When she eventually does get caught and her body is taken over by Wanderer, Melanie now becomes the host. When Wanderer and Melanie start to become alies, Wanderer leaves, in search for Jared and Jamie. There is one problem with this... the seeker.

There is a lot of action in this book. There are just so many scenes that are super intense and have action extravaganza, and its just amazingly awesome!

There is awesome romance in this book. Huge love triangle, well it's just kinda hard to describe. Trust me though.

Wanderer and Melanie both. They both have a serious role to play and even though Wanderer has taken over Mel's body, Melanie still shines through. They work very well together.

Ian, and Jared are kinda in a competition with Wanderer/Melanie. Mostly Jared just wants Melanie back instead of Wanderer, when Ian and Wanderer fall in love, its really hard for Jared to see Melanie's body fall for somebody else. Again, they were both "save the day" type hero's.

Favorite Supporting Character:

Yes, I absolutely loved Melanie's little brother Jamie. Jamie made the book funny, and he was really quirky! Also Melanie's Uncle Jeb, he helped Wanderer a lot in the caves. I like that Jeb was so compassionate.

Something I loved:

I just loved the whole entire book, I loved all the characters, the romance, the Sci-Fi... I just loved everything!

Yes, there is a cliffhanger. But there will be a sequel to The Host, soon I hope. At least that's the word on the street. I'm really excited for it!

Would I recommend it?

Yes, I would recommend it! It is definitely in my top favorites!

Did my friends like it?

Yes they did. My mother loved it, Andye loved it, and its definitely in my sisters top favorites.

Audiobook Review:

The narrator Kate Reading was okay, I mean I have heard a lot better but, she was did pretty well on all the voices. She grew on me a bit, but she wasn't the best.
