Top Ten Kisses by Bethany Neal

Top 10 Kisses (numbers 5-1)

WARNING: This list is not only jam packed with Grade A smoochable crush-candy, it is also riddled with spoilers(!). So I reference the book/movie name first in case you choose to save yourself for the real, er, fictional thing.

  1. All Unquiet Things by Anna Jarzab (The very end of Part One): Carly kisses Adam in front of Neily and “two or three hundred” of his classmates. It’s just so brutal the way she makes eye contact with her boyfriend, Neily, while making out with another guy at a party for everyone to witness. Brutal! But for some reason I love her for being so beautifully broken.

  1. Linger by Maggie Stiefvater (Chapter 36): The kiss between Isabel and Cole that almost leads to it but instead leads to crying, confessions, and leaving. What nobody wants from a kiss but every reader subconsciously longs to happen!

  1. 2005 MTV Movie Awards, Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams acceptance “speech” for Best Kiss: They won the award for The Notebook and they were together in real life at the time. I actually can’t say anymore about it or I’ll emotionally combust. Watch here and understand.

  1. If I Stay  by Gayle Forman (pg 50): Adam “plays” Mia like a cello. Yup, it’s as salty-delicious as it sounds. Can’t wait to see this one in live-action come August 22nd in theaters!

  1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 2: "The Becoming - Part 2": Buffy tells Angel to “close his eyes” then kisses him right before she kills him to save the world…again.

Want to read the other half of my top 10? Hint: There’s a werewolf and Shakespeare involved. I know, I’m such a tease. Head over to Word Spelunking blog right now to see how steamy numbers 10 through 6 are!

What if your last kiss was with the wrong boy?
Cassidy Haines remembers her first kiss vividly. It was on the old covered bridge the summer before her freshman year with her boyfriend of three years, Ethan Keys. But her last kiss--the one she shared with someone at her seventeenth birthday party the night she died--is a blur. Cassidy is trapped in the living world, not only mourning the loss of her human body, but left with the grim suspicion that her untimely death wasn't a suicide as everyone assumes. She can't remember anything from the weeks leading up to her birthday and she's worried that she may have betrayed her boyfriend.
If Cassidy is to uncover the truth about that fateful night and make amends with the only boy she'll ever love, she must face her past and all the decisions she made--good and bad--that led to her last kiss.
Bethany Neal's suspenseful debut novel is about the power of first love and the haunting lies that threaten to tear it apart.

Bethany Neal writes young-adult novels with a little dark side and a lot of kissing! She is obsessed with (but not limited to): nail polish, ginormous rings, pigs, pickles, and dessert.
You can find her locked in her Writertorium for insane amounts of time. But, hey, insanity is fun! My Last Kiss is her first novel.
