Dovey learns that demons lurk in places other than the dark corners of her mind in this southern gothic fantasy from the author of the Blud series.

A year ago, Hurricane Josephine swept through Savannah, Georgia, leaving behind nothing but death and destruction—and taking the life of Dovey’s best friend, Carly. Since that night, Dovey has been in a medicated haze, numb to everything around her.

But recently she’s started to believe she’s seeing things that can’t be real…including Carly at their favorite cafĂ©. Determined to learn the truth, Dovey stops taking her pills. And the world that opens up to her is unlike anything she could have imagined.

As Dovey slips deeper into the shadowy corners of Savannah—where the dark and horrifying secrets lurk—she learns that the storm that destroyed her city and stole her friend was much more than a force of nature. And now the sinister beings truly responsible are out to finish what they started.

If you happened to read my review of Servants of the Storm, you'll know that it wasn't a good fit for me, so I've decided to pass it on to one of our readers.  Hope you enjoy it more than I did, and remember, DON'T READ ANY SPOILERS!

No I haven't but I've been in an ice storm which was scary, a hurricane would be even worse.

    thank you :)

  2. No, never. In my country the worst that can happen is a very very small tornado that won't make any damages. Thank you for the giveaway!

  4. Fortunately I have never been in a hurricane but we did have a tornado in our area and I was driving home during the stormiest part of that day. It's a day I'll never forget because as I watched a bolt if lightning hit a light pole, all I could think about was getting home to see my family. It was terrifying and something I never want to experience ever again!

  8. I've also never been in a hurricane. I live in the midwest so we have big thunderstorms and tornadoes. Don't know if I would ever want the experience ;) Thanks for sharing!

  9. Oh yes!!!! I was in the middle of Camille when we lived in Gulfport, Mississippi. Then, in Louisiana, we were about 30 miles away from where Katrina hit (thank goodness not near the water). That was a bad storm even 30 miles away!!

  10. I've not experienced any hurricanes, but did visit Florida during a time when tropical storm warnings were in effect though luckily the threat passed. We spent the entire first day of our vacation cooped up in our hotel. There was so much rain that the buildings across the parking lot weren't visible!

  15. No hurricanes for me. I live inland, so all I need to worry about are tornadoes and forest fires!

  16. I've been on the outskirts of a hurricane. Luckily though no damage and our lights didn't even go out. People not too far from us were getting damage to their houses or were out of power for a week.

  19. Hm, this sounded like not the best book from the previous review, although the blurb does sound a little interesting and I really like the style of the cover. Either way, I still think I have to pass this >.>
