I Have a COMPULSION For Magic! {HUGE Giveaway & Blog Tour}

Guys. GUYS!

I need your attention right now.

I just finished a book. Only it wasn't just a book, it was a magic book. I mean, it's a book about magic, but it's also a book that IS magic! You know how there are a lot of books that you like, but there are only a few special books that you just want to read over and over? This is one of those books.

I LOVED Compulsion.

LOVED.

I finished it a couple of days ago, and I haven't been able to think of anything else! The setting. The Mystery. The characters. THE ROMANCE! It was just complete perfection.

So it is with GREAT PLEASURE that I kick off the I Have A Compulsion for Magic blog tour, and introduce you to this incredible book. But let me make something perfectly clear.

Eight. Belongs. To. Me.

So step off.

Ehem. Anyway. Where were we?

Oh yes. Compulsion.

Your can follow the entire tour here. Trust me, you don't want to miss the author guest posts, the excerpts, and the massive giveaway going on with the tour.

Throughout the tour you'll find a variety of author guest posts. To go with the theme of Compulsion, and the tour theme, Martina Boone asked a few of her fellow author friends questions ranging from what kind of "every day" magic powers they wish they had to what magic powers do their characters wish they had, and more. You don't want to miss what authors like Leah Cypess, Jodi Meadows, Beth Revis, Megan Shepherd, Kimberly Derting, Kami Garcia and more have to say.

Want to get a sneak peak into Compulsion? Don't miss out on reading a couple excerpts, and finding out more about the characters, world, and the story Martina created. You can find out which tour hosts will be sharing interviews, and excerpts from Compulsion, here. Be sure to find out more about Compulsion, and see what authors Jennifer L. Armentrout, Wendy Higgins and Claudia Gray said about this amazing book.

COMPULSION
(Heirs of Watson Island #1)
by Martina Boone
Simon & Schuster, Simon Pulse
Hardcover, 10/28/14
ISBN: 1481411225
Three plantations. Two gifts. One ancient curse.
All her life, Barrie Watson has been a virtual prisoner in the house where she lives with her shut-in mother. When her mother dies, Barrie promises to put some mileage on her stiletto heels. But she finds a new kind of prison at her aunt’s South Carolina plantation instead–a prison guarded by an ancient spirit who long ago cursed one of the three founding families of Watson Island and gave the others magical gifts that became compulsions.

Stuck with the ghosts of a generations-old feud and hunted by forces she cannot see, Barrie must find a way to break free of the family legacy. With the help of sun-kissed Eight Beaufort, who somehow seems to know what Barrie wants before she knows herself, the last Watson heir starts to unravel her family’s twisted secrets. What she finds is dangerous: a love she never expected, a river that turns to fire at midnight, a gorgeous cousin who isn’t what she seems, and very real enemies who want both Eight and Barrie dead.

  1. I would want the ability to manipulate time so that I can slow things down when things pile up at work and I need more time to finish.

    Finding lost things, definitely!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Finding lost things would be great. Or having just more time sometimes though I don't know if that's ordinary. Freeze time so I can read? I'd love that!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Thanks for the great interview! We're so excited to see Kami at YALLFest in just a month!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Finding lost things would be really helpful around the house.

  10. I'm not sure what an "everyday" magical gift is. If I had a magical gift I'd like to be able to stop time just to be able to get things done. There are all these little projects I want to do that I never get around to and I'd love to be able to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Definitely the option to freeze time. I'm always in need of more!!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I want the power of persusion!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'd have to agree with the other comments in freezing time to get things done (but mostly to read more!), but also I'd love that ability to find lost things. That would also save me a lot of time!

    ReplyDelete
  14. i could have fun with freezing time

    ReplyDelete
  15. I wouldn't mind having the gift of the gab (without first having to kiss the Blarney Stone). I often am at a loss for words, let alone the right thing to say in a difficult situation. Not only would I be better at maintaining communications in my own relationships, but I could use the power to persuade others toward peace and love.

I would want the ability to always see the truth. I hate being lied to and have a hard time knowing when other people are being deceptive and usually end up getting burned.

  17. Valerie PenningtonOctober 6, 2014 at 3:28 PM

Oh, I have no idea. Maybe the gift of beautifying cities because Dallas can be pretty rough. I could make some flowers appear and clean off graffiti.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think it would be cool to levitate things. If I'm to lazy to go get something just levitate it! I also like the whole freezing time thing! I can't decide! XP

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is probably pretty lame, but I would want to be able to talk to animals. I could get birds to scout out what's happening down the road, finally understand my cat, ect. I'm glad you liked the book so much; its making me even more excited for the release!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'd want a wand because it could help you so much. So glad you loved this. Me too.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would want the ability to read minds. I think it would come in handy in any situation.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think I would like to have the ability to know the answers to any questions asked.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Knowing what people want, definitely, because I absolutely fail at reading people. Or the ability to walk through objects because the amount of times I run into walls/get hit with doors is ever surmounting.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wow, awesome giveaway, Andye!! I would want the power of knowing peoples' true thoughts and feelings. It takes away deception and lies ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. What an awesome giveaway!! I would definitely want the ability to manipulate time! That way I could speed through the boring life situations- like bus rides- but be able to slow down time when I need more of it- like during exam weeks or when spending time with family.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks for the giveaway! I would want the ability to make puppies appear anywhere someone was having a bad day. I know it sounds lame, but you can't be upset when there's a puppy licking your nose.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would want to know what people are feeling just by looking at them...like being able to see their auras ^.^

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would definitely want luck, would that count as an ability? You know those people who always find money on the ground or win raffles? That's the kind of like I would like but all the time :P

    Thanks for a giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  46. It's so hard to choose, but I think I'd pick the ability to understand and speak a new language by hearing or reading it. There are so many awesome languages I'd love to be able to speak and read! That would definitely come in handy. ^_^

Magical Gift: A mental teleporter that lets me go into the worlds I read about and meet the characters I love, that would be pure bliss! Unless it was the hunger games...

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'd like to stop time. Like right now I could stop the clock and take a nap :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hmmm, the selfish part of me wants the power to teleport, but the compassionate part of me wants the ability to heal people. So hard to choose!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'd probably like invisibility.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I want teleportation, although I don't know if that counts as "every day." One really cool one I saw on Tumblr, LOL, was the ability to refill things -- your cup, your bank account, your pantry, someone's bladder... versatile, right? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I would want the ability to read others thoughts >:)

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'd love to be able to sense somebodys emotions. So I can tell when they're sad, happy, etc.
