Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
This week's topic is TOP TEN MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASES FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2016, which I tried to do a mix of both sequels (HOLY COW I HAVE A TON OF SEQUELS I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO!!!) and other books that are the beginning of a series or stand-alones. Looks like 2016 is going to be an EPIC year for reading!! Am I right?
Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira (Jan 12, 2016) - Bookishly Ever After? Yes, please!!! I'm pretty sure every book nerd around is dying to read this book, just like I am! Thankfully, it's coming up on my TBR, because I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out since my friend Kelly has been RAVING about it!! It actually really feels weird that this book is FINALLY coming out, because I've had my eye on it since it was announced by Publishers Weekly. My, how time flies!
Firstlife by Gena Showalter (Feb 23, 2016) - Okay, I love Gena Showalter. I read a ton of her books when I got back into reading while in high school. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for her Alice in Zombieland books. I tried to like them! But they were just meh to me. So I'm anxiously awaiting the start of this new series, Firstlife, which sounds so badass!! Plus, look at that cool cover! *pets*
A Gathering of Shadows by VE Schwab (Feb 23, 2016) - I went out on a limb last year (since everyone raved about it, aka book peer pressure) and read ADSoM, and absolutely devoured it. High Fantasy usually isn't my thing, but I fell in love with Lila Bard, and I cannot wait to see where she is on her pirate ship in AGoS!!
The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows (April 5, 2016) - The Orphan Queen basically shattered my emotions earlier this year. (Seriously, if you haven't read it, you might wanna wait until it's closer to April, so you have TMK to start immediately after!) I'm almost over the betrayal of that ending, but The Mirror King will definitely help soothe old wounds. I'm hoping!
Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan (April 5, 2016) - I actually just read Sarah's first book, Unspoken, because I met her back in March at NTTBF15 and she's so adorable, sweet, and hilarious! We stood in line and bought books together, and both of us were to shy to mention that I was holding Unspoken in my hands. It was just so cute! ANYWAYS, I still need to finish the Unspoken trilogy (story of my life!), but I really enjoyed book 1, and I'm really, really looking forward to what Brennan crafts in Tell the Wind and Fire! I'm sure this book is going to be fantastic! AND THE COVER!!!!!!!
The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead (April 5, 2016) - Hold the phone. ANOTHER new Richelle Mead book?! YAAAAAAAS! We just got Soundless, and now another book?! AHHHH! Now, Richelle just needs to announce that she's continuing the VA series. Hey, a girl can hope, right?!
The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh (May 3, 2016) - Yet another sequel I'm DYING for. The Wrath & the Dawn was one of my very very top favesies of 2015, and the sequel can show up at my house any day now, because I needed it months ago. I was enamored by this retelling, and I'm sure the finale will be just as explosively addicting.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas (May 3, 2016) - AND HOW COULD I FORGET ACoMaF?! DUH! OF COURSE THIS IS MY TIP TOP MOST ANTICIPATED!!!! I NEED MORE TAMLIN AND FEYRE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO NO NO LOVE TRIANGLE WITH RHYS AND I WILL BE HAPPY. Please and thank you.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson (May 3, 2016) - I've heard from people who have already read Morgan's new book that it is the best of hers yet, and that makes me even more excited. Morgan Matson is definitely one of the best contemporary authors out there, and the cover of The Unexpected Everything is so stinkin' cute! Plus, the synopsis is contemporary candy to my inner reading muse.
Ruined by Amy Tintera (May 3, 2016) - A new fantasy that sounds great!!! I loved Amy's other series, Reboot (which reminds me I need to read the second one. See? Story of my life!!!), and I cannot wait to see what she pulls with this new series! Infiltrating the royal family? I LOVE THIS PLOT LINE! GIMME GIMME GIMME
This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab (June 7, 2016) - MONSTERS. VICTORIA SCHWAB. COOL COVER. NEED NOW.
The Marked Girl by Lindsay Kingele (June 21, 2016) - A book about a magic portal in modern day LA, a prince with his betrothed, and a foster filmmaker. COUNT ME IN!!! AND THE COVER! OMG!!!
Okay, so like always, I cheated a bit and chose 12, but whatevs. I couldn't stop picking them! What are some of your most anticipated releases for the first half of 2016? (Seriously, where did 2015 go?!) Are you looking forward to any of the same one's I am? Let's discuss!
