Hello Bibliophiles! Welcome to the Apocalypse! Today we have Gideon from RIDERS (by Veronica Rossi) with us to answer some questions about himself. If you haven't read RIDERS yet, be sure to check out Elisa's review here. RIDERS is available now!
What’s
your favorite thing about being a horseman in RIDERS?
Too hard to pick one thing. My horse. The guys. Daryn. My
armor. See? Not just one thing.
What’s
your least favorite thing?
Setting things on fire by accident. Read the book. You’ll
see what I mean.
What’s
one thing that’s surprised you about being War?
That it ended up making me a nicer person. Go figure.
Give
us a little insight into your tastes. What was the last song you listened to?
Last thing that made you laugh?
The last song I listened to was probably something by Eddie
Vedder. He’s the greatest. And what made me laugh? Bas. He screws up these
pretty common phrases. I don’t know why but he does it all the time. He told us
we had to answer these interview questions, which none of us like doing except
him. He told us he didn’t want to be a “Bad News Bear,” but we that had to do
this. He meant “bearer of bad news,” right? Of course, right. I mean we all
knew what he meant, but…it was just
funny. I gotta start writing that stuff down. Yesterday he was giving me some
advice on something and he told me to just “let the waters play themselves
out.” What does that even mean? Really. What does that mean? No one knows. Only Bas does.

For eighteen-year-old Gideon Blake, nothing but death can keep him from achieving his goal of becoming a U.S. Army Ranger. As it turns out, it does.
Recovering from the accident that most definitely killed him, Gideon finds himself with strange new powers and a bizarre cuff he can't remove. His death has brought to life his real destiny. He has become War, one of the legendary four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Over the coming weeks, he and the other horsemen--Conquest, Famine, and Death--are brought together by a beautiful but frustratingly secretive girl to help save humanity from an ancient evil on the emergence.
They fail.
Now--bound, bloodied, and drugged--Gideon is interrogated by the authorities about his role in a battle that has become an international incident. If he stands any chance of saving his friends and the girl he's fallen for--not to mention all of humankind--he needs to convince the skeptical government officials the world is in imminent danger.
But will anyone believe him?
