Thank God It's Monday! Blog Tour \\ #TGIM #AWeekOfMondays

By Becca...

I'm super duper excited about today's blog tour post, because I get to write about which Monday I would love to relive for seven days straight and which Monday I would LEAST like to relive over and over for 7 days. I'm not saying that some of these things happened in real life and I'm not saying that they didn't. Maybe I made it all up! I'll never tell!

My FAVORITE Monday I'd LOVE to relive would consist of:
  • Being back in Orlando, with all of my book buddies at ALA, talking books and finding new ones to love. I never realized that I had a niche of people who were just like me until I went out and found them. Being from Oklahoma, it's kind of hard to find some peeps who like to spend all their time thinking, living, and breathing books, but finding a place where you're surrounded by them and books as well? Well, that's a no-brainer! I'd love to spend the same Monday I did last week, over and over again, because it's my home away from home.
  • After a long day spent with hundreds upon hundreds of books and bookish friends (new and old!), I would fly back home to my family. Granted I loved being at my home away from home, but it felt great to be back where I've been needed more than any time in my life....my real home. Most of ya'll probably don't know, but my mother was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. I haven't been around a lot, because of this. We found out her full diagnosis while I was in Orlando, on the show floor. If I had to find out at any place other than at home, ALA was the place for me to find out, because I was surrounded by my greatest support system. My people. My friends. Even though, I'd hate to relive that phone call over and over, I'd do it again, because of where I was and who I was with.
  • When my plane wheels finally touched down in Okla-HOME-a, I was ecstatic. Not only was my new boyfriend (who some of my twitter followers know as Book Boy(friend)) waiting for me in the luggage area, but a few more surprises were as well. He carried all of my luggage (BLESS HIM! Those bags were all 50 lbs a piece!), and then when we got to his car, he opened it up and I found a build a bear that he went and made for me. Not just any build-a-bear either. A 50th Anniversary Star Trek build-a-bear, which basically made me cry a little. I blame the stress from the week away (and maybe because I'm a little bit of an emotional ticking time bomb all the time now). BUT THEN we went out for pizookies (which if you have never had, you're missing out. It's the best dessert on the planet!!!). I would love to relive eating pizookies for a week straight! Especially when surrounded by my other greatest support system, my best friend (and Kirk, the bear).
  • Finally, I would end my day by being reunited with one of the strongest women I know, my mother, and my other best friend, my dad. AND PUPPIES! You never realize how much you miss home until you're away from it for a little bit. A bookish home away from home is fantastic, but there's nothing like the real thing and it's a feeling a would love to relive over and over and over again.
My LEAST FAVORITE Monday I really would not like to relive EVER:

  • The day after the season 6 Walking Dead finale! WHAT THE HECK AMC & ROBERT KIRKMAN? HOW COULD YOU LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT? I CAN'T GET OVER IT. I WOULD HATE TO RELIVE THE FEELING OF NOT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENS NEXT TO POSSIBLY ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE CHARACTERS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I'M STILL IN A SHOW HOLE BECAUSE OF YOU GUYS. Not. Cool. (Okay, that was kind of a cop-out, but honestly, I try to make the most out of any day, whether it goes smoothly or not. Because that's the thing about life...it's full of ups and downs. No day is ever going to be absolutely perfect or absolutely detestable. You can always try to find the bright side, no matter how dark the day seems. I'd like to be able to say that I think I could get through any Monday I've previously experienced over and over, because each of those least favorite Monday's that come to mind? They made me who I am today, and I sure as heck wouldn't trade it for the world.)
