Unlike the rest of the world, Iris doesn't care about the famous high-fantasy Elementia books written by M. E. Thorne. So it's just a little annoying that M. E. Thorne is her grandmother—and that Iris has to deal with the trilogy's crazy fans.

When Iris gets dropped in Ireland for the movie adaptation, she sees her opportunity: if she can shut down production, the Elementia craze won't grow any bigger, and she can finally have a normal life. Not even the rascally-cute actor Eamon O'Brien can get in her way.

But the crew's passion is contagious, and as Iris begins to find herself in the very world she has avoided her whole life, she realizes that this movie might just be amazing…
So picture this: There is adorable little me, and (not as cute) Andye, in Barnes & Noble. It was just her birthday, and (since our local B&N decided not to put out Stormcaster (Cinda Williams Chima) when it came out so my grandparents couldn't get it for her so they just gave her a gift card to get it herself whenever B&N decided to get their stuff together) she had a gift card, and so I was like, 'I'm taking advantage of this situation', as one does. So I'm browsing the YA isle, and this title catches my eye. I mean, it's called Now a Major Motion Picture for crying out loud. So I was like, 'wow what book is this and when is it coming out on the big screen?' So me, being the curious person I am, take it off the shelf and look at it.

While it isn't actually a major motion picture, it is a really amazing book. Something that I love about this contemp. is that it isn't just about Iris' romantic relationships, but also about her relationship with her family, especially her little brother. She discovers the grandmother she never met, and her character arc is beautiful.

All that said, this boy is SO CUTE OMG. Eamon O'Brien is nerdy and adorkable and I love him and you can't convince me otherwise. He is literally the perfect mans, like, people of the world, go find you mans like this to keep for quirkiness, book recommendations, and occasional baby sitting.

They also have some scenes from her grandmother's book that has very much piqued my interest (I feel like there should be a Rainbow Rowell's Carry On kind of deal with her grandmother's books). @Cori this is a great idea you should hire me to be your idea guy :)

I have great argumentative skills and I believe I have just put together a pretty good argument as to why you should go to your local book store and pick up a good book that will make you tear up at times, but won't leave you a sobbing mess on the floor. On that happy note! Au revoir readers!
